Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity: Default Outfits [Part 1]
Post Extended!
Sakai updated today talking a little about the new clothing designs. The design team thought long and hard to bring you these brand new costumes for each of the default races. His post is separated into parts so you’ll see the rest of the outfits at a later time.
This outfit represents a Japanese School Uniform called a Gakuran.
This outfit represents a Japanese Idol! Ooh Sparkly!
A Japanese style outfit made for young boys.
This outfit is a Ceremonial Kimono.
Later on Sakai plans to show you the CG versions of these outfits. During Character creation, you won’t be able to choose the old default costumes of PSP2, however they have not disappeared from the game. All default costumes no longer have that “race restriction” attribute, so you can wear whatever you want.

Calorie Mate x Infinity
Sega has teamed up with Calorie Mate to bring you this exclusive strap! You can obtain this by attending the Sega Booth at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The strap comes with a little card of Nagisa as well as the Mono Mate and Calorie Mate figures. Calorie Mate will have an in game item and a collaboration mission.
Did you know Calorie Mate was the inspiration for an item within the Phantasy Star Series?

The Human Female clothes are making my inner-child go Ga-ga! Adorable, haha.
I can't wait to see what else is in store for PSO's 10th Anniversary.

Cast techs while moving? That will make Forces more versatile.
Something tells me that with each minor improvement to the Forces, they're compromising it to make it easier to use when it's meant for advanced players. Now that we can combo and move while teching, I think that's enough improvement for now if they want to keep Forces challenging.

Awesome, can't wait to see those. Even though this IS all part of PSP2i and not the upcoming PSP2.

Can we finally get some female battle armor!!! WTF?!? Going to fight monsters in a prom dress never made sense to me. Even the males need more of a PSO hunter/ranger uniform. Jeesh!

I never will understand why people still want some kind of heavy armor when technology is as high as it is in PSU/PSP.
Anyways, I hope these outfits come in pieces instead of being a one-piece. I could really use those tights/shoes on my Human Female Vanguard…

@ Temprus: agreed. XD Its an aesthetic thing really. Personally I think Line Shields/ Shield Weaves are genious.

Couldn't disagree more. You two are probably the swimsuit/ beachtowel variety of PSU gamers. Have fun with your fashion show but give the rest of us some "tougher" looking outfits for Kriss Sake!!!

I have to disagree- I really don't give much care about "fashion." I prefer the PSO outfits is all. XD I'm just saying that Shield Weave Tech in a sense is your armor. Extra coushin couldn't hurt though. Ever play Mass effect?

Well Mr. Beast default outfit in PSP2 Infinity has lots of armor. So since there's no longer a race restriction, you can wear it.

So, we have a disgruntled school boy, a female pop star and two divine beings.
I'm lovin' it.

Ricardo

Lol obviously not. Fleshies wear fleshies clothes, while casts wear parts.

I totally understand what a line shield does but it just gets goofy when I see all these awesome hunter & ranger weapons & most of the styles of clothing in PSU/PSPo2 are…well…clothes. I want to LOOK bad-ass. There are too many fashion shows & not enuff battle outfits (especially for women). Girl characters get stereotyped nasty!

Human Male – Ugh… another school uniform?
Human Female – OMG, I'm either totally hating or totally lovng it. I love the lower half with the frills and stockings, but the top is a no. Maybe it'll look better in another color?
I'm digging the Newms, especially the female. It's much better than the abomination in PSP2. >_>

The Newmans outfits are much better than the standard for PSP2, the humans outfits are ok, nothing more.

Human male looks like that guy from Persona 3
Human female looks like a moron
Newman male looks like a girl
Newman female looks like something she's supposed to look like.

The human female atire looks like some thing Emila would wear, but the mature conservative avatars, might hate the perky look for the females.

Human guys: thumbs up
Human girls: perky
Newman guys: I think they're called males for a reason…
Newman girls: can the costume get any bigger?
Male Casts: could be better
Female casts: ditto for Newman girls
Duman guys: WTH IS THAT?!
Duman girls: "
Lookin forward to PSPo2I a lot! OMG PLEASE FIX THE GD THEME SONGS!!! PLEASE!!! why can’t they just put some good old ROCK on it!? All this game needs to become the best game on the planet is to become an MMO for the pc, a bigger variety of clothing and clothing types, interchangeable weapon parts (or an ACTUAL WEAPON SYNTHESIS!!!), expand the # of people available in parties, and last, and most importantly, LARGER “city” areas and some recreation areas. By the last thing on that list I meant something like what PSPo1 did with the areas in the different planets but larger and to have places to hang out with people. What I also meant by the # of people available in parties is that, well… it shouldn’t feel like its just 4 players and a bunch of npcs. They should make it like… .HACK//Rebirth’s social system was.
We need better fighting combos I get sick of using the same combo finished every single time I’m beating up a monster. Monsters, well what can I say… MUST BE IMPROVED. I feel like I’m fighting monsters out of kids’ drawing books. Smileys and signs, where is the good old rocker’s hand sign? Definitely need some anime style facial expressions. Something like a cool guy smirk or the sweat drop on the head with the “you got me” face, those would be nice.
I know. I got issues. But hey I mean come on you know. This game series has A LOT of potential!!! I personally love the Phantasy Star game series and would like to see it skyrocket higher in popularity and become an iconic game series such as Zelda, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, etc. Gamers take pride in their games and its about time the Phantasy Star became a part of our everyday gaming vocab.
Clothes… Clothes definitely need improvement. Who wants to socialize in the same outfit you use to fight monsters in? What’s wrong with casual clothes like hoodie jackets, jeans and high top shoes?

Ooookay then Zero. It's nice to be excited, but as things stand Infinity is set in stone for everything other than collabs and some download missions. And we'll be lucky if a 3rd party were to show up and port Infinity for the poor Western Gamers Sega doesn't give a crap about.
