Japanese Phantasy Star Portable 2 Server Ends
Phantasy Star Portable 2′s JAPANESE server will officially terminate next year at maintenance.
PSP2 Japan Server Closing Time

Phantasy Star Portable 2 can still be played on Ad-hoc Multimode and Story Mode. If you have Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, you can continue to use those servers to play online.

Are the NA servers still up anyways? Also anyone know about the status of the fan translation of PSP2i?

Fan translation is still ongoing, the guy had to do a big project for college so progress slowed down for a while.

At least they will let you continue playing through ad-hoc multimode… stuff like this should be implemented in all PSO games from now on.

Okay. this might seem like a silly question, BUT: Should I get Infinity in japanese? I know someone out there is slowly translating it for us (which is awesome), but i totally will not know whats going on (mostly. since I can put 2 and 2 together) but yeah. Should I get it, or will Sega be like : hey lets localize this to NA" ?

Eh, just get the Japanese version. There are absolutely no signs of Sega even bringing it over here at this point. You shouldn't even be concerned about understanding the story. I can summarize the entire thing for you. Also, if you are completely aware of how the game play and mechanics work for the English Phantasy Star Portable 2, then you should have no problem playing this. This site lists plenty of helpful resources. Besides the game always works like this:
"Story Mission >> Talking/Do an FM/Go to Room/Little Wing Office/Cafe >> Next Story Mission Available >> Repeat the Cycle."

Aight, thanks. It's just like I already beat the English Phantasy Star Portable 2, and I was just hoping for an English one of Infinity as well. Oh well, I don't mind it at all, I love Nana Mizuki anyway. And she's playing Nagisa? That equals good game. Duman character here i come. After i buy it on amazon.
