um… wow. I thought the layouts of the initial class trees needed help. these… ye gods. <<;

seems sega wants to ensure people can't make these terribly effective untill the cap goes up a couple more times. <<;

Figher tree is pretty straight forward. You go down the path you want the gear for and attack corresponding to the stance. As for the gunner tree… i think that one needs a bit more thinking through. Zero advance + Aerial sounds like a good combination, like jump close and do a PA in the air. Techer tree looks complicated so i'm just going to specialise into a certain element and hope the for best…

For the gunner tree, use launchers on rockbears, an assault rifle on vol dragon. As for Techer, I don't know.

Aryube

September 12th, 2012 at 5:48 pm

It says 'pp convert' down the dark-tech tree and it hasn't been detailed… does anyone know what this will do? quick guess i'd say it gives you pp for hitting a target with a tech or for inflicting status ailment with a tech… could anyone clarify? it sounds good

Azekuro

September 12th, 2012 at 6:12 pm

@Aryube: I think it's similiar to Photon flare but instead of HP for T-ATK, it's HP for PP. That's my hypothesis.

September 12th, 2012 at 6:13 pm

I think the R-Def 1 is very useless in the gunner tree. The R-Atk 2 should be there instead.

Panther

September 12th, 2012 at 6:24 pm

JaneDough: Rod for Rockbear, Talis for Vol only. You can use either weapon to hit them until they are near death, then use appropriate weapon to kill them to get the quest kill.

PP convert = temporary reduce your HP to gain PP.

I hope the skill tree will be updated :3

Techer is terrible, there's literally no point in playing that class. It's outpowered by Force in every aspect =/

Piranha

September 13th, 2012 at 2:47 am

I assume "PP Restraint" in-game is "PP Restore" here.

Now we just need to know their stats at level 40, so we can make plans. Or I missed something.

Sandy

September 13th, 2012 at 7:09 am

@ Ksogaijin – You fail to see the one thing Techer completely outshines Force on… Support!

They get Territory Boost, Shifta/Deband Advance, Shifta Crit, Deband Cut, Resta Advance.

Not to mention that Dark tree looks delicious with the Poison Boost and Poison Ignition (which wont be as bad as Freeze Ignition since poison doesn't wear off on the slightest touch of another person in your Party/MP, And Poison Ignition can poison anything caught in the blast as well.

(I consider Poison a form of support as well btw since it's a status effect)

If I have 10/10 dark mastery and I use a wand with dark element on it with wand gear, will that increase the explosions damage?

Nilok

September 13th, 2012 at 10:22 am

Techers also get a PP regen boost if you take the deband tree. Not sure how good it is yet, but once you can subclass with force, you'll have PP charge revival with a regen boost and all the support boosts that come with techer.

Also, techers really do have much higher defensive stats. with some really basic 3* units, I was taking minimal damage from lvl 11 enemies even though I was lvl 4.

Lastly, the wand while it attacks slower is pretty devastating with the wand gear and a good weapon. 2* wand with 15% fire, no upgrades or abilities and wand gear full, I was hitting a rockbear's face for ~300 per hit at lvl 7 and each swing was hitting twice(maybe more?)with the fire wave from the gear.

The class is definitely different from Force which takes getting used to, but it's not weak once you learn that the class is meant to be able to melee. The gear charges off hitting anything that is capable of registering a hit. Trees grass, boxes, enemies. The basic wind spell can easily fill the gauge on a single casting if you have more than one target. Try to look at the class as being more melee oriented with spells and melee being closer to equal parts of the class. Between that and better support options, the class is more like a FOmar(l) than a FOnewm/newearl.

Nice points Nilok. I noticed pretty early on how powerful the wand damage was and it seems like great damage during pp downtime. I believe it can be just as powerful as other class despite its differences.

@John Smith -

for the eight millionth time. THESE ARE NOT SUBCLASSES. they are entirely seperate classes from Hu/Ra/Fo. subclassing comes NEXT month.

I would like to ask is single-handed sword plus shield will be available on future?(PSP infinity got single-hand sword)

Nilok

September 14th, 2012 at 8:31 am

Gunslash IS the saber this time around for all intents and purposes. They got rid of handguns and sabers and combined them into a single weapon class available to all. it's a saber til you hit shift and then it's a gun. then you hit shift again and it's a saber once more. Why would you need a saber ontop of a saber that turns into a gun?

About the Techer – From what I gathered pre release the Techer is supposed to be a melee/support class. They even mentioned that while the Wand class technically has less T-Atk its meant to cause more dmg melee wise. Hence all the bonuses to buffs and defence.

Just a question though does unlocking the advanced classes means your locked into the new class or does it just open up a 2nd class tree/type you can swap to?

Nilok

September 14th, 2012 at 9:38 am

it's treated as a new class. If you unlock Techer, your class options become Hunter, Ranger, Force and Techer

The wording on the description for Gunner's Aerial Advance is confusing. Does it apply to attacks made during a jump, or does it apply to enemies that have been launched into the air?

Ricardo

September 14th, 2012 at 4:54 pm

Even based on the icon, the enemy is in the air. So as long as the enemy is in the air.

Lyu

September 15th, 2012 at 2:17 pm

The only thing I wanna say about Techer…

Why does the wands have such bad melee range?

I like the idea of support/melee class, but how about it can actually melee targets more easily. Times like these I wish the normal Force had a weak wand while the Techer would have a powerful long rod instead. I think it would make more sense.

psokid

September 15th, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Hey Ricardo man, not sure if i'm reading it right, but for the gunner skill "Showtime" I think you have it backwards.

The JP Wiki has it as:

"Instead of increasing the value of their hate for the enemy a certain period of time, give rise to increase the value of the gear"

Which would make more sense for a gunner to want to increase the gear, instead of increase hate.(Like a tank or something)

Kuri

September 15th, 2012 at 8:26 pm

It makes sense to me that in exchange for having the gear rise faster, hate also increases. The move is even called Showtime.

You shouldn't really rely on google translate

JaneDough

What weapons can Gunners use? Just Machine Guns?

Sandy

September 16th, 2012 at 6:12 am

@ JaneDough – They specialize in Mechguns (Most of their skills and their Gear/fighting style revolve around Mechguns) But they can use Rifles and Gunslashes as well.

Ricardo

@PSOKid @Kuri

代わりに

I had the same issue the first time when I thought it meant "Instead" yes it does translate to "instead" but let's take a look at Photon Flare

一時的に法撃力を上昇させ、代わりにHP最大値が低下する

If we say "instead" the sentence would mean 代わりに Instead of decreasing (低下する) the max hp (HP最大値), give rise to increasing the tech power.

But Photon Flare decreases your max HP in exchange for increasing your Tech Power.

The wiki gives you the Hate Bonuses applied when using the skill.

For Example Warcry ヘイト効果 Goes from Lv1:100% to Lv3:110%

For Showtime: ヘイト効果 Goes from LV1:100% to LV3:110%

Ah okay I see Ricardo, sorry about that man. Yeah guess I can't really take what Google translate says as golden. XD

Anyway thank you so much for clearing that up. :)

I actually don't mind the advance skill trees, just don't know which path is the best for fighter. I like techer and gunner tree though.

man….if only I didn't need to sell my pc I would be playing now….zzzzzzzz……saving up money now can't w8 to power level and be a Fighter I love using those 3 weapons since they are fast and I can timing my dodge easier using fast weapons unlike in Sword where I mess up the timing at times….hope a sword/gun gear appeaars in the near future I like using those as a ranger and I think some of it's PA's would benefit from the skill Zero Range Advance……oh yeah is the double saber gear worth it? I might drop it if it doesn't give a nice/better boost….
