PSPo:2 Jumping

Sakai updated information about the Battle Mode. There will be various games to play in battle. This screenshot features "Catapult Jump" where players are split into two teams and must collect "Energy balls" and acquire bases. It sounds pretty much like capture the flag so far… He also wants you to check out future "Weekly Shonen Jump" to see rest of the collaboration items.

Collaboration

These scans show off the Love Ring Feather Outfit and Art Javelin, some of the exclusive collaboration items appearing in PSP2. We have been wondering if these collaboration items will appear outside of Japan. Some of the Japanese mange listed have no western publishers, and surely copyright issues will hinder their appearance. Hopefully Sega of America will make exclusive items for our version as compensation, (but we know they always take the laziest way out of doing things considering psp1 doesn't have DLC). Also don't forget to check out Sakai's interview with Dengeki Magazine.

1up.com and ign.com spilled the details of the upcoming Phantasy Star Portable 2. The new details include:

Takes place 3 years after Phantasy Star Portable
Your custom character works for "Little Wing" and not The Guardians
More complex missions
Twice as much story as the previous game
Brand new character redesigns
A new "evade dodge" move.
Charged weapon ranged shots
Shields that can damage enemies if you parry.
Shields use the left hand slot.
Infrastructure mode via Internet Multi-mode
Multiplayer only missions
Chat and Lobby Actions [1]
Common Storage Box [1]
Searchable Partner Cards
Import Save Data from the original Phantasy Star Portable [2]

This sounds great and this also reveals what that mysterious new Sega RPG was about. According to the Famitsu scans, you can clearly see that it matches directly with the silhouette on Sega's NewRPG site.

It seems PSP2's producer: Takai, wanted to give players the choice of using stylized default characters, though you will still be able to customize the look and feel of your character including their face, body, and clothing.
