Neudaiz Guardians Boost Road and Phantom Fissure

GBR: What does it stand for?

GBR is used as initials for Guardians Boost Road. Its a series of missions that players play in order to gain a drop rate increase. Each time you play a mission thats along the road, you will be able to accumulate points which adds to the value of how much percent increase the drop rate will be boosted. Guardians Boost road will run from August 22nd to September 26, 2008.

The Rules of GBR

GBR will increase the drop rate by a certain percentage based on the lowest number of points you received by completing missions that are along it's path. Points will be given out as soon as you complete a mission, you must be inside the mission as you complete it. Simply playing the same mission over and over will not increase your boost rate.

As points are added you will earn a class, this class determines the percentage you will be contributing to a party. Other players in their party will also use their own scores. These points will add cumulatively, determining the total boost percentage. Essentially having more players in your party boosts the drop rate higher.

What missions are in GBR and where are they located?

All missions in Neudaiz GBR are located on Neudaiz. The first mission is Hill of Spores which is located on the Shikon Tanze Route. To reach Shikon Tanze Route, ask someone to take you there if you don't have the lobby available from the Transfer Lady. Otherwise playing the mission: "Forested Islands" from Neudaiz will allow you to reach to the Shikon Tanze Route. Each mission plays one after the other so the next available mission will always be there at a lobby until you reach the end.

Shikon Tanze Route > Hill of Spores > Dancing Birds > Use Ohtaku City Gate > Flowery Pursuit > Head to Pavillion of Air > Sacred Stream > White Beast

Player Examples

On a typical run, a level 140 player who completes all 5 missions on S2 rank difficulty will get 5 points for each mission:

  • Example #1
    • Hill of Spores : 5 Pts
    • Dancing Birds : 5 Pts
    • Flowery Pursuit : 5Pts
    • Sacred Stream : 5 Pts
    • White Beast : 5 Pts

The rules of GBR states that your lowest point on any given mission will be the basis of how much percentage boost you will contribute to the party. So the lowest point in the first example is 5.

Lets look at Example #2 where various characters of different levels played GBR in a random fashion.

  • Example #2
    • Hill of Spores : 15 Pts
    • Dancing Birds : 13 Pts
    • Flowery Pursuit : 12 Pts
    • Sacred Stream : 20 Pts
    • White Beast : 12 Pts

The lowest points occurred on White Beast & Flowery Pursuit. 12 Pts will factor into the boost percentage you will contribute. As you can see, in order to reap the full benefits of GBR, you need to give equal attention to all the missions.

Phantom Fissure and how to find it!

During GBR, you and your party may encounter a rare Neudaiz mission called Phantom Fissure. Phantom Fissure is a permanent addition to the game and will also occur after GBR is over. In order to find Phantom Fissure you can do any mission, preferably on Neudaiz.

There are 2 key factors in order to flag this mission.

  • Players must be within the mission's field before the mission is cleared.
  • Eligible party members must be within a mission for at least 80% of the time.

Rare missions are no longer based on time or amount of players. You have the same chances of finding a rare mission as a solo player. However the biggest change is eligible party members. Only the party members who have been flagged for that mission is eligible to participate in it as long as they fulfilled the criteria above. You will see a message on the screen telling you if you have been flagged for that mission. You may no longer invite friends to play with you in a rare mission if they were not in your party at least 80% of the time, and if they were in the lobby at the time of the mission's clearance.

Please note, Sega of Japan has recently changed the method of finding rare missions. This method does not affect the US servers until Sega of America announces it.
