Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity: Weapon Designs

Today Sakai showcased some of the new weapons you'll see in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. Today's weapons go along with each of the 4 CG default outfits that were released last week.

 

New Weapons

Male Human's Daggers

A higher ranking model from the "Exam Series"
Twin Dagger, bold letters say "Sword Dagger (Exam)"

 

Male Newman's Rod

A Rod with an Oriental Pattern for that MALE newman.

 

Female Cast's Rifle

A huge rifle, the photon is in the shape of the gun barrel.

 

Male Duman Twin Sabers

Duman's Twin Saber, the photon uses sharp light.

 

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity has around 3000 items total, and there will be hundreds of new weapons.

  • Shougai PSO talks about the Axion weapon that was a Gunslash (GunBlade) in PSZero. A weapon of similar appearance was shown in one of Infinity's Promo videos.
  • It appears this Axion lookalike became a Saber in PSP2 infinity.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity: New Clothes and Parts [Part 1]

Clothes, clothes clothes! We've been talking about outfits for quite some time, and now it's extended even further. Today Sakai talks about the default outfits that never made it.

Cast Female

This was going to be the original Cast Female outfit, it's supposed to be like a little demon. You could say this outfit is the light-armor version of PSP2 default cast female. Since it's sort of similar to PSP2's default and Sakai wanted more of a change, it was dropped as the default.

 

Duman Female

This was going to be the Duman Female default. It established the medieval look for the Dumans. However, this outfit was deemed a bit bold to be used as a default.

 

So you may wonder if these outfits aren't in the game, but don't fret, you can actually collect them within Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. Sakai plans to reveal more outfits in the future, including those for males.

Another quick post today, Captain T is absent today so Sakai is filling in.

Yesterday, Sakai received many comments on why the Beast doesn't appear in the Main Visual. He responds that the point of the Main Visual was to show 4 characters defeating an enemy, considering you only have 4 players in a party. Unfortunately the beast had to get cut out because now they have 5 races. Plus the main visual had to depict the four battle types, hunter, ranger, force, and braver. So you see there was no more room for the Beast.

Now that this game has both default outfits from PSP2 and PSP2 Infinity, you can choose whichever default you want. For those who will import your PSP2 character, you will see the new default outfits in the Clothes and Parts shop for cheap prices. Isn't life grand?

Next time Sakai plans to reveal the rest of the CGs, but @rapico tweeted one already.
