Alfort Tylor returns in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity

Alfort Tylor (voice: Toshihiko Seki) Age: 32, once again returns to the series. He was a character from Phantasy Star Universe and Phantasy Star Portable 1. He was there to rebuild Moatoob when it was in a state of despair as the Rogues leader. In this game he is just known as "Don Tylor."  He treats his subordinates like a family, and highly values his motto, "Don't Raid, Don't Murder, Don't Steal from the Poor".

Extra Demo Questions

Is it just me or does Sakai's KFC area look slightly different…

Sakai answered some questions about the Demo although most of the answers are just as expected.

In regards to drops within Infinity Missions..

There were some comments about how weapons don't drop that much in Infinity Missions. Please realize that since it is a demo, the drop table is only one small portion of the retail version. By then you'll be able to see various kinds of weapons dropping. Also note that only 3 areas and 3 bosses exist for Infinity Missions in the demo. That would be the beach, autumn, and arctic area with the bosses Giel Zohg, Zoal Goug, and Duga Dunga. The mission codes will only be of those three. In the retail version there's going to be around 8+ areas and 30+ bosses to combine.

In regards to sound quality…

You may have noticed a diminished sound quality for parts of the game. Please realize that due to memory limitations (not based on disk space but based on limitations of the PSP), some sounds were reduced in quality to make way for new features. The movie scenes in the demo are compressed, but in the retail version, you will see a much higher quality version.

In regards to partner characters…

Some combination of weapons/abilities/shields can cause Partner Characters to behave unstable or inappropriate. At times you may notice partner characters not moving at all. Please note that this will be fixed in the retail version.

    • Name: Infinity GP 1st Stage
    • Release Date: January 20th, 2011
    • Mode: Multimode + Internet Multimode
    • Access: Challenge Missions チャレンジミッション
    • Description: ∞(インフィニティ)GP1stステージ Infinity Grand Prix 1st Stage. Players will participate in  a preliminary contest at the coastal area to defeat the boss Gill Zohg.

Mission Details

A very short mission in which you must fight Koko Merodda and Giel Zohg. To make this mission easier one must have either a force or ranger in the party. Next the force could cast Sazonde on Lilly. Behind the Lilly is a box for Ice Resist. You can equip this really fast as it helps to speed up the clear time. The next room has two Koko Merodda which may freeze those who do not have Ice Resist.

The boss is weak to Foie and Fire Technics as well as ranged weapons that shoot the eye on the scorpion tail.

Where to place Download Missions

The new download mission page is displayed here. When download missions are available and you do not have the trial license, head here to download them.

To manually perform this, create a new folder called NPJH90157DL under the SAVEDATA folder, then insert the DLM.DAT file inside the NPJH90157DL.

PSP2i: Download Sega Official Characters, Missions and Demo Bugs

A new feature in Phantasy Star Portable 2 allows you to download your friends' characters online and through ad-hoc mode. This allows you to bring your friends along with you on missions offline. Dragon Sakai Producer!

Sakai's Official Character

Sakai has upgraded his character to Sakai Version 2. The reason for this is because those who previously downloaded his character but did not purchase the pay DLC outfit "Sakai Suit" could only see Sakai in default clothes. Now Sakai will wear the official Sega outfit like Segakochan.  Sakai will personally send out his character through passive communications with the PSP. This can occur if you arrive at the specified gameshops in Japan.

As for the other characters, they will also be distributed this way, and those who already received the characters should turn off their WLAN switch. However, there may be a case where Sega staff may have to transfer characters through a party. Please contact Sega staff at the events for further instructions.
