During Tokyo Game Show, Sakai showed off several new features very briefly. Unfortunately we do not have much details on these features but at least you will get to see a glimpse of what to expect.

New Features!

New Black Nanoblast (sorry no axe!)

Customize!

Customize your character! The screenshots above and below show some sort of a customization screen. We don’t have much information about it at this time. From the screenshots you can see various items that boost certain attributes. Of particular, the items show an HP Boost, Wild Blast, and PP Guard Save. (With PP Guard Save it makes me wonder if this is the “free slots” for units.)

Each item costs a certain amount of an icon looking similar to “gold.”  I’m assuming you’ll have a certain amount of “slots/gold” available to equip with.

Wild Blast decreases the charge time of your Blast Gauge

HP boost will boost  HP, duh…

New Characters

Ursala the green haired newman.

Shizuru the silver haired antagonist.

New Enemies

Next they showed some new enemies, like the Nano Dragon from PSO, and an original enemy known as Fazntal (Fazuntal) and Sagntal (Saguntal), who does a rotation attack similar to Kagajibari in PSU. The Sand Rappy from PSO also appears.

PSO Dragon appeared as a boss, and you fight within the central dome. The BGM was “Growl from the depths of the earth” It differed slightly from PSO, it wags and attacks with it’s tail. After they defeated the boss, a reward screen appears and it appears this was the mission “Forest of Illusion“.

PSO speculates that each “Rare Mission” may have their respective bosses from PSO. Hopefully they digitally release the second trailer because it sure looks juicy. They even show off a bit of the new snowy field!

Toro and Kuro

Sakai officially announced his collaboration with Doko DeMo Issyo. The characters Toro and Kuro will appear in the game as special partner machinary characters. In addition, they will also appear as “My Room” items.

• What appears to be an “Item Trader” is shown in a screenshot.
• An entirely snowy field!
• Multiple Endings was said by the narrator.
• Side Story appears where you take requests from clients.

We have quite a bit MORE to cover in regards with information released today. Yes this is an UPDATED list of types available at the TGS demo. Keep in mind that this list is subject to change in the final version. Players start out with a Basic types and can upgrade to B grade. There will be 4 grades (C/B/A/S).

Hunter Basic

As you can see, the Braver class seems to be the Acromaster. In PSU, Braver would equate as a cross between Acrotecher and GunTecher. Still we do not know how classes will work at this time so hopefully Sakai will clear it up for us.

Shougai PSO got a chance to listen to Dragon’s Sakai’s presentation at Tokyo Game Show. We learn some information that will please Phantasy Star Online fans.

Two Promo videos were shown, one of them was completely new. Next they announced collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment mascots, Toro and Kuro and had them appear on stage in a huge costume. Toro and Kuro Partner Machinery will appear in the game if you meet some specific requirements which they did not mention. They next played within PSO’s forest. Along the way, the enemies: Savage Wolf, Barbarous Wolf appeared. Producer Sakai then officially announced a playable demo.

Battle

We have some minor new information about battle. Pso-w member Mike recently received the newest Dengeki Playstation and wrote about some of the new stuff he found. Shougai PSO also added notes from the magazine. Here are a few other Battle Modes other than Catapult Jump.

• Blitzkrieg Death Match
• No Wall
• The Great Menace
• Advance like an Arrow of Light
• Who will hit the switch?
• 13′s Room

Battle mode is really extending the replay value of this game. It kind of makes you wonder why they didn’t plan PSU with this in the first place. I’m sure PvP hardcore gamers will love Battle Royal and the Death Match. There also seems to be a race to hit a switch first!

Save Transfer

So we all know when you transfer save data from PSP1 you will get an exclusive item named Exam (Igzam) with 4 Effect Unit. For quite sometime we were unsure what “Effect Unit” meant, but atleast we have some more information about it.

Based on your character’s class, you will  receive one of 4 unit effects.

• Cosmic Particle
• Brightness Circle
• Whitill Wing
• Flower Art

In addition the follow options of importing are available:

• Character Import
• Demo Save Data Import
• Download Item Import

Snowball
