A program developed by Wellbia will be introduced to the PC version's upcoming maintenance on November 8th. This program is designed to combat unauthorized tools.
Even though the program will be applied after November 8th's maintenance, you will still have the opportunity to switch to [nProtect GameGuard] via the game launcher.
If you encounter an error when launching the game or during gameplay that's thought to be caused by the new program, please try launching the game in "Compatibility Mode" from the game launcher.
How to Switch Between Anti-Unauthorized Tool Programs
- Run the game launcher and click [Preferences] → [Features] Tab → [Game Launch] and check "Compatibility Mode."
NGS Ver.2 will do its utmost to address malicious activities so that all players in general can enjoy the game.
Wellbia XIGNCODE3 Release Schedule

So they will install this annoying rootkit that I often hear bad things about…. It was fun while it lasted.
BTW it says that you can switch back to GG but it don't say if Xingcode will get uninstalled or what. Is not that clear yet.
Don't you realize nProtect GameGuard is also a rootkit? You can look it up.
It's just as any other AC (anti-cheat) bootstrappings. Only when you launch the game with the said AC may install said AC into your system. Even GameGuard itself is also a form of bootstrapping, as you can see it's download files and install stuffs when you launch PSO2 (both old game back in the day, and the new NGS).
So you can just select gameguard at earliest possible after the update. Never starting PSO2:NGS with new AC program once, and the new anti-cheat should never be installed on your system. __This is on the assumption that SEGA doesn't mess up their code/design where they will still install new anti-cheat program regardless of user settings.__
As for uninstallation, my 2cent was that "it doesn't need to" as long as you never let it install, or….if (**a big IF**) SEGA decides to use the new AC in the same manner as GameGuard (no installation, just bootstrap lite where it loads the AC in portable manner).
But if you accidentally let it install, I think you don't even need to do uninstallation aside from the uninstaller from `Apps & Features`, unless you want to absolutely purge it out clean of your system, in this case, however, is likely cleaning up "left-over files" rather than uninstallation.
At the end of the day, it's just the matter of `pick your poison`, I guess. But I do prefer the current GameGuard as they're not strict (I can do ReShade/GShade with it and do stuffs), in which may not be the same for the new AC. People already joke around the false-positive bans from using Streaming Software (it's not groundless, btw). Though, I hope the new AC won't be too dumb and cause false-ban everywhere, and they won't change gameguard to be stricter, too.
Cheers~
