Kvaris Region
The snow and ice-covered region of Kvaris is a wonder to behold, but the extreme temperatures could prove deadly for unprepared travelers.
There are more Region Mags and new gathering materials to discover amongst the snowfields.
Additional Trainia facilities are located in the region that are designed to test the agility of participants.
Kvaris Camp
The few denizens have taken up residence in a small encampment. The shops here are manned by mysterious, seemingly abandoned robots that predate the arrival of the Central City ARKS in the region.
New daily tasks will become available, along with an abundance of Kvaris NPC side tasks.
Battle Sector
The Belugana Ruins are home to long-deserted buildings coated in a thick layer of snow. Hostile devices called "Hovac" can be reprogrammed to aid in battle while in the area, much like Vanford's Dromes.
Enemies
Loads of new enemies can be fought in Kvaris, such as the bomber behemoth "Crocodallus" and the "Proctos Ael/Retem" that mimic the attacks of DOLLS from other regions.
Rare enemies in all regions will give more experience and have a higher rare drop rate than before.
New Actions & Trials
Interacting with markers on the map will allow you to mount a "Floating Board" and shred across the region. Some trials will also make use of the boards.
Hurl fragments of Crystal Ice at enemies for big damage using the new "Throw" action. Lob them at airborne Cold Photons to create massive explosions in the "Cold Photon Excitation" trial.

What, in your opinion, devs should've have done then?
>Imagine playing a game you hate.
Imagine defending a game full of potential ruined by greed and incompetent devs.
Imagine being ultimately responsable for their own lack of fun in the game for playing the game wrong from the start by:
Speedrunning a game at its earlier stages, since they have nothing else to do all day, no other games to play, no tv shows to watch, no job, no school, no nothing, they end up consuming whats supposed to be a 3 month content over the course of a week;
Demanding the devs to release the so called 'content' at an even faster pace than they are already doing, and then wonder why there are so many bugs;
Ignoring whats is being a 10 year use of the same formula being used where 2 scratches are released monthly and somewhere about 6 months they update with quests, classes and stuff like that, and actually being surprised that there hasnt been the reverse;
Having no clue how difficult it must be to make an entire game, let alone program one on top of another, and call the devs lazy for it;
Being toxic on a fan made website, getting into arguments that might make everyone angry and still blaming the company for players leaving this community;
And so on, there are still more tho
ps: Im not referring to anyone in particular, but if the shoes fit and you decided to wear them…
@random
He does have a point… if it's stressing you out, you should probably not add to Sega's player count and play something you enjoy. Like, I get that one has time cost sunk issues going on, I'm sure that's part of the reason I still play, but it sounds like it's making you miserable compared to me just kind of feeling disappointed.
Like, if you were writing practically articles like NGS Rifle guy there, people probably wouldn't be mocking you, nor see you as just some one suffering while playing. People don't have problems with the fact that people are not happy, a lot of us are not with the state of the game, but we at least try to express it in constructive and empathetic ways.
And it doesn't help that this attitude is prevalent in games people are just trying to enjoy. Others don't want to see a hate cycle 24/7, every second some one trying to be miserable. It's why the discourse is so abundant in NGS right now, just too much always downers instead of when it's the right time.
It's probably about time you consider these thoughts.
I for one am excited. Can't wait to explore the new region.
Sounds like some neat features coming too.
Haha, "bare minimum" at a region release has got to be the funniest joke complaint yet. I hope it has become obvious to everyone else as it is to me that these hate comments should not be taken seriously. They are starting to sound like they were former sega employees who got fired and hold a grudge, instead of moving on, they try to sabotage the company on a fan made website, but dont worry, they do it because they care!
Then stop playing if it doesn't make you happy.
Damn Sega that's a really low move, to put a quality of life feature behind a pay wall. (Why was I expecting anything else, shame on me.) Auto sell should be a standard, not a luxury. Especially with the limited inventory space.
An artificially created problem, only to be solved by a greedy solution.
Technically since you can buy it with SGs which you can get for free it's not exactly behind a paywall but I get the point. They want people to want premium without making it too much of a bonus to piss off free-to-players
Meanwhile Kvaris battle zone has been said to have reduced (near zero?) low rarity weapon on the stream.
Does anyone have the specific numbers for the Limit Break/Photon Flare Short Cycle? It looks useful to me in terms of downs and breaks if the cycle is short enough.
LB and PF short CD and duration feel fitting as you can more easily fit them during down times for maximum impact, hopefully it still results in more DPS overall by more up time. As for times, it's unlikely as Sega likes to not actually give us numbers for no good reason before the update despite telling us "here's some good stuff" making it hard to fully be hyped.
One has to question massive hunter short though.
I have no idea how Massive Hunter Short can be useful either, I'll probably gonna skip that one out. I'm not a Hunter main so I don't really have a say for it.
Some of the new skills have trade-offs to think about compare to the old ones, it's probably safe to skip some if they aren't being beneficial.
Can't wait for another 2 hours of content that took 6 months to make, yay.
Those QOL improvements are nice. At least. I guess. (Should have been here since day 1 of NGS launch)
>Can't wait for another 2 hours of content that took 6 months to make
I love it when newbabbies complain about a problem plaguing basically every game in this genre in the current year.
Said by a person who most likley haven't play all the classes well, but okay.
At this point, people like you are just gonna get butthurt over everything.
Oh, a whole new region to explore with new things to do, new monsters to fight, new weapons to use, new activities, and a new story to play? Fxck that! They should've worked on and released a whole new episode with a large scale collab with Monhun like Evangelion collab or something!1!!
While I do agree that this game lacks some replaying quality, such as non-combat activities. I for one, am really looking forward to fishing, my room and stuff, But bruh
New region is nice but let's be real, so far there isn't really much have changed since release, after 1-2 weeks of grinding in battle areas to reach the level cap, or after exploring the whole region for red boxes and collecting materials, we're all going back to gigantix hunting (which is considered to be "end game" ever since Aelio) or mind-numbing kaptan farming or even longer battle areas to grind for weapons and some loot that'll probably be 1000 meseta on the next few days. Sure there will be price surge of some stuff for some people who wants to rush things up, but it'll probably won't last very long. Reliable "farming" in this game has always been killing low level mobs or mobs that can't fight back which is really boring for some people (talking about West Retem ARM III caps, kaptan/meseta/seasonal points farming in Rank1 battle areas).
The game always keep on giving ranged classes (Ranger and Br bow) the middle finger, especially rifle. AoE Blight rounds? seriously? Yeah because we really need it to kill mobs that dies in 1 hit anyways. Rifle is so bad, it has mechanic that shouldn't even in the game at the first place. Did you know you deal less damage if you're too close or too far from the target? Spreadshot, that wasn't even AoE until retem and they had to eat up a new skill slot for that update. Auto charge is nice but the weapon has so many problems and not just damage numbers being too low. Because SEGA's mindset that it's a "SAFE" class, and shouldn't do high damage, because "THEY HAVE 100% UPTIME" when Force (FO) is a much safer and a much responsive class (they really pampered this class too much). Ranger, "SAFE"? Yeah, because let's talk about some boss' aggro that just randomly jumps on you when you're a sitting duck as RA with launcher, RA that has low base HP and DEF (talking about Ragras, Kelkund, and Bujin). Rifle PAs and Blight Rounds have absurdly long animation lock that doesn't make sense. You lose a lot of DPS when reapplying the thing because for the most part, other Ranger in your MPA can't be bothered to use theirs even they're just holding Rifle left click 24/7.
"Bow Another Arts PP Save" ? Yeah because Bow ""REALLY"" has other PA's they can chain with for that delicious reduced PP consumption, when you're mostly just going to use Flex PA.
"Slow Landing Bullet Bow" glad to have this one but this should've been in the game at release.
Game is designed with player# scaling in mind, assuming players using any class can clear "end game" stuff by themselves, but this is not so true for ranged classes (talking about devastators). These two classes can barely clear it, and you have to play almost near perfect because even some really good videos out there only got like 10-30 seconds left when they've cleared it while. I'm not saying RA or BR BOW should deal the same damage as FI or FO, there's just too many issues these 2 weapons have that SEGA won't address or refuses to address.
Glad to see other weapons getting better even some still have flaws like TE wand and talis in general but sadly not for Rifle and Bow. If you go search videos for these weapons–devastators or geometric pyramid, etc, you'll see how few they are. (Heck, they won't even address the Divine PA bug in pyramid not doing AoE damage if you manually aim at the ground because they really don't give a shit about the class). And it also baffles me how Ranger in particular got the "SATISFIED" approval from players at its current state. People, wake up.
Did you also know there's a hidden damage cap in the game when you're hitting low level enemies? Can't oneshot them unless you use certain PAs or use dash attack. Imagine being Lv60 and you're doing the same damage as some Lv10 guy vs Aelio mobs.
Still no "Deformed" face NGS variant, another middle finger for people who are mainly using it (myself included). Don't they realize it's so hard to decide whether or not to buy NGS-related makeups and other stuff? What if you bought and used them and ends up wasted because SEGA decided not to implement one? I mean, it's nice to have more face variant for specific audiences (just like that upcoming one from the trailer), but at least talk about whether or not they're gonna make one that ALREADY exists in base PSO2.
No color palette indicator on tickets too just to have a better idea which part of the [Ba] or [Ou] are recolorable. I've bought plenty of these already and regretted it because I didn't realize which parts are fixed colors.
Don't give me that "why you still playing", "keep hating", "then just move on", "then don't play the game" kind of response. I just believe I've made valid points and criticism about the game. Though if you find this nothing more than just a mindless rant just like some people here do, then it's up to you, I ain't gonna deny I'm just ranting right now. And it's not my intention to provoke anyone here. If you enjoy the game, that's fine, good for you. I just made my point after like a year-long waiting just to see if this game will come back into something I've once enjoyed playing.
Sorry for the long post.
Uh, hate to say it, but, while I'm not sure about rifle, launcher and bow are considered some of the best DPS in the game, if not straight up the best, outside of constant knuckles counters. Though, part of the problem with launcher is not having the time to use it properly if solo admittedly. You're definitely right on that front. I'm sure they wanted to add some "weight" to the weapon but like some PSO2 stuff at the end of ep6, it was powerful, just painful to get to work right with how much everything moves
Also Bow can't just flex2win… It really needs to consider the best PA in scenario. If you're only spamming flex, it might show why you're having issues doing the damage you need to.
Meanwhile, Fo is actually one of the worst(for effort anyway), and for best DPS, it needs to be up close countering and trying to squeeze in charged attacks constantly which makes them quite vulnerable. Die? Better enjoy setting up everything and losing whatever Dark or Lightning charges you had… Compounds definitely helped but they also just gave them a proper down time option vs a proper revision.
I don't think ranged is really a problem as a whole. While a lot of the melee complaining is sad and tragically misinformed, there is some point about a lot of range packing a punch. And how Katana is just kind of poor atm. As for rifles distance mechanic, that was already a thing in PSO2 in a sense, and is kind of common in action games like this. Especially in MH, which was likely still the inspiration for combat in this game.
It may be a stretch, but have you considered looking at what the "pros" are doing with weapons? I've seen many complaints about Gu and TMGs but it's honestly pretty ridiculous when done right, especially switching to rifle when CT is on cool down. This includes how they hate how the guns do less at range which, while I would prefer a mid combat gun class myself, does feel a bit silly when they oughta know about the intentions.
Honestly part of the thing about Ra is it's going to be one of the hardest classes to play well. People are gonna play what is perceived as easy most of the time, even if proper play is actually hard. Seen so many Fo do absolutely little damage while day dreaming of "compounds go brr" as a form of the latter, and so many people go Hu just because they can tanky face and counter damage. Heck, even I play Fi because I can just kind of lazily counter sway for massive damage without much thought to DPS from time to time.
And no, no one is gonna complain about you speaking your thoughts and tell you to play another game. There's a difference between believing you favorite weapons are subpar and doom-say. I think it's important to have these thoughts put out there, at least if people actually use the surveys Sega provides. Kind of moot otherwise. If people read your thoughts, they might just, ya know, put "kind of disappointed" for Ra next survey.
Also can anyone confirm the thing about enemies taking way less damage than they should when you are grossly over-leveled? Because I was still one-shotting the small guys in Aelio myself. Bigger enemies seemed to die at the rate I expect them to. Could just be anecdotal on my side though /shrug
And for that one guy who's gonna inevitably point out that I responded to most comments here, I just like discussion and had a lot of thoughts just waiting to come out.
@MioBunny, Thank you for trying to make the world a better place by being civilized about this, that even if its a complaint, it doesnt sound like its coming from someone who wants to burn this game to the ground.
As for the damage cap part, i cant really confirm it, but during spring event, i did a rank 1 trigger with lvl 45 (was 45 the max lvl during spring? cant remember) and i had gear that was like 55 to 62%, i did noticed that there were a lot of numbers poping out that looked like criticals, but werent, and alot more frenquently too, like i used zonde hit 10 enemies and 8 had the exact same number, i assumed that it was like pso2 where if your dex stat (or whatever its called in global) is high, and the enemy dex is low, your damage will approach or reach your max damage with that attack, even tho it wasnt a critical hit. But if he meant an actual damage cap like in pso2 we had 999.999 then i wouldnt know, highest damage ive done was 20k on lenus during break with the dark fire compound.
As for @NGS Rifle Best Weapon (Not Lie), I am satisfied with ranger, but i dont play it on geolab or purple triggers, so i havent felt your pain, maybe thats why people were satisfied with it cause they tried different classes on hard quests.
The deformed face part, i never liked it nor used it, but i understand your pain, i feel the same way with hairs, i have bought 2 hairs tickets and used them and ended up not liking neither of them. I hoped that someone could suggest a way to remove used tickets, and turning them back to ticket form to use on another charcter instead of buying a 2nd ticket, or reselling them in case u regret it, but i think people never tried to suggest that thinking it would be useless since they turned costumes into tickets now, but it would certainly help fixing the overprice stuff on the shop, cause even if there isnt a revival scratch players could just manually revive the tickets and sell to others that would put to better use.
The color palette thing I was happy to see it being added…. only to find out that it only shows colors once u changed them. I bought the wrong wushu ticket because of this :V
And lastly, the "why u playin" "then play something else" comments are usually for people that act like personal opinion are facts like saying a scratch is full of trash, people that dont have enough arguments to sustain their point of view so they resort to verbal aggression like the sega being lazy. At least thats how i do it.
@MioBunny
I forgot to clarify about launcher and bow DPS, they're kind of fine really, doesn't do too low or too high damage. The problem lies somewhere else where in launcher, you're always sitting duck waiting to get jumped on by enemies while holding Fear Eraser. Not only you have to hold the laser for a certain amount of times for better DPS but you lose even more if you stopped prematurely because you have to suddenly re-apply Blight Rounds. And they've added Launcher Blight Rounds which is also kind of useless, since it's very slow compared to just using rifle's.
The "Rifle Grenadier Quick Reload" of course, it has to be specifically weapon action when it's the worst "evade" in the game, very little iframes and there's a delay before the iframe kicks in. Because again, RA cannot have damage according to SEGA. I like how they "fixed" Fallen Impact launcher PA because it's stacking on each other and hitting airborne enemies, this used to be an "ok" PA back then but it's rarely used now.
As for Bow, for most cases whenever the boss is down, you're pretty much just gonna have to spam flex to get the most damage out of it. On rare cases where you have to use Ceaseless Draw (JP name) but pretty rare. Yeah you do use other PAs too like charged Dimensional but you really ain't gonna use it much when you're soloing a boss especially aggressive ones, only when it becomes untargettable momentarily like Renus for example. While I agree with you that situations must be considered on which PA to use, most of the time sadly it's just Flex, occasional Ceaseless Draw and charged Dimensional (uncharged beforehand if you're going to use Brave Combat skill). So the new skill "Bow Another Arts PP Save" doesn't really fit the class. It's much easier to convey what I mean through pro player's videos. I would suggest checking DelReYの記憶 (he's one of the best bow br players out there imo)
Despite playing almost near perfect and have a really try-hard equipment, the time remaining on his runs on Devastators were:
Aelio: 7 seconds left (not to mention he had to put ability 4 which was crazily expensive during this time. March 3 just so he get 100% variance)
Retem (Before Ceaseless Draw update): 16 seconds left
Retem (Ceaseless Draw): 1minute 2seconds left
Also another problem with bow is also Flex's hitbox is too big, it always end up hitting other parts first before the core for some enemies, so proper positioning is required. this is same with Photon Blast for bow. This is a problem since there is a damage fall off for these kind of PAs where the first hit deals the most damage and how low it gets the further it pierces through the enemy. You also have to be mindful of where to lock on enemy parts. Dustyl enemy variant for example, you usually aim at the core behind and stay near its feet so you can do counter and so your Flex hits will be all eaten up by the enemy. For Nex you better aim at the core on the other side before using Flex. Same with Renus' body segment.
On the part about being "lazy and still dealing OK damage through sway counter"-ish, this is also a problem with GU. The class is just too much effort right now, too annoying to maintain "Chain Boost" when you just want to farm dreads for example since the class is kind of underwhelming without the Chain Boost buff. Gu's trying to build up chain to 100 without chain boost is just the same DPS as FI using knuckle's left click btw. Also GU can utilize rifle's grenade even better because it rarely misses since you're up close to the enemy. And unlike RA that needs to be at certain distance to deal ok damage, GU's grenade doesnt lose damage from being close.
They're also going to give GU "Chain Trigger Counter Retain" which again another useless skill for the class. You're rarely going to miss chain in this game. Missing a chain in NGS is much less punishing imo compared to PSO2.
Even a bit unrelated, I'll just leave this here too while I can. Although I bet most of you here already know about this. There's 10% damage bonus if you're using your main class' weapons than using your subclass' (which kind of killed multi-weapon feature of the game because it wont offer you much versatility. On top of having multi-ATK unit setup is just so bad and expensive right now, you're better off making separate unit for each attack type and most likely going to cost you less, assuming you're aiming for the best capsules).
And no, sadly I can't find any videos about it but it was buried in some discord server now. Even some JP community are aware of it. Tbh, I didn't know this until like around 2 months ago when my friend told me about it and when I asked my other JP friend, they agreed and told me it actually exist so I went ahead to try myself. If you're using photon dash and left click them, they're most likely going to die in 1 hit. Yeah some PAs like Divine launcher can 1shot, but not for some techniques like zonde, etc. If you don't believe me, try using uncharged zonde using some +50 weapon vs 2-3 star weapon against trash mob in aelio. You'll notice you will be doing around the same damage. You can also test this in Aelio Yellow triggers, it's much more noticeable because your run time wont be much faster. While it's true I can't provide any source for this, people like to test damage numbers and stuff a LOT, why some people call it spread sheet simulator because of DPS tables and stuff.
Again, a pretty long reply. Thank you for your insight.
Honestly, I feel like they're focusing so much on QoL stuff that it might be massively eating into the design process. There are small things that are appreciated, like the decoration off in preview, but a lot of the others, while great, probably should of been in the backburner, assuming the people working on them could help else where.
Quest counter does give me some minor hope though. Perhaps they could add things like the old seasonal portal quests and maybe some new ones. Just…things to do that you could get good at. But with potential rewards too. Honestly they really need to consider some additional content similar to Geo and Trainia. People love that stuff and it feels like they're scared of that fact. Open world gathering works and is fun, and they probably could make it better by having trials happen by chance by running onto a square instead. Funny that's one thing that they changed from PSO2 that would of actually worked here where it really didn't there.
Though really the problem is them relying too much on combat sectors to fill in the spaces and just not realizing it's not fun. Make them like "Mission sectors" or something. Constant trials or you get an EQ like set up to run through predetermined sets of enemies that the game rotates through, just anyone can join at the start instead of waiting for a count down and everyone to be there already. Anything. There's just so little good reasons to be in combat sectors really.
Also I wouldn't mind just regular mooks getting reused in regions if it meant more time developing bosses because, dang, did they forget the lesson that people just kind of want to fight big monsters from Ep6.
That being said, do enjoy some things. I feel like Fo could of gotten something to better support the real design of proper play, but yeah fire needed a buff, so did Katana on Br.
Though I guess that's the problem with good stuff…compared to the bad you just don't have to go into the details as much. Makes everything seem so much worse than it is and often you can't really get that in depth as to why something makes you feel good vs why something is bad. I suppose now it's just best to wait and see with it coming so soon.
Have you tried Elsword? They like to release 0 content but 30 new jobs with a million attacks if that's your thing.
For my part I'm excited to have a new region, PAs/Techs, enemies, characters and story but actually, before all the roadmap they planned I would have preferred that they dedicated to fix the game stability problems before they keep adding more bugs xD it's amazing how it breaks and it's not only NGS, but since its release all these problems were also transferred to PSO2 classic. I love this game, I've been on it since late 2012 and it really hurts to see it so deteriorated… in all these years I can count on my fingers the times I suffered from some bug that f*cked up my experience. But well… anyway "welcome Kvaris!" xD
I'm still waiting for fixes on these, now one year old, bugs:
1. Infinite loading loop when jumping to an almost full block, the one that throws you to the other block. Before Retem update, it's the when you got thrown to the lake. Closing the client just because of this is annoying
2. Gray models that won't disappear until you meet the players in their actual locations in exploration/combat sector (this is different than the 32 max model display). I once found a new player (around early 2022) in Central Aelio field tried to talk to these and then think they are zombies, in Japanese. Definitely not welcoming
3. Players lobby action got reset to idle motion (even sitting too) when you move away from one part of the city where those players start to disappear and re-appear again when you get back
@asfd
I also would like to add 'hitboxes' to that list. Hitboxes have been a disaster since 2012.
10 years later and they still can't seem to get them right.
Funny enough we got the oh so important finger movement, with finger pointing accuracy & precision.
The irony.
And perhaps the struggles of the camera when you're fighting near a wall/obstruction could be added as well.
I'll be happy with just reducing a storms frequency. 1 storm per 1-2 hours is ENOUGH.
If that's how you feel, maybe you should go play something else eh?
Don't be toxic, be a legend! be fierce and move on!

Was expecting a PA for each class on this update but holy fck SEGA is so bad at this.
– Open world but few things to do
– Class with few PAs (shts boring af. if you are going on this route SEGA, then better up your game on mobs to make fights more enjoyable. Learn a thing or two on games like MonHun or Souls like games. Phantasy star isn't even a slow phase action/strat fight. its a fckin fast phase and ur releasing this few movesets?)
Thank god MHr: sunbreak is coming soon. Im out when that comes
I hope there are snow kitties in the campsite at least.
As a long time FI player, if the LBSC is 30 seconds like base PSO2 that would be a step in the right direction for me.
