Aim Chat: There was an error sending your message

Aim problems

Another bug has been affecting chat.aim.com users rather frequently. This bug has been appearing since the end of April and has not been fixed by AOL Staff. The bug is described below.

Users receive the error message:

There was an error sending your message. It may not have been sent correctly. Please try again.

There is a problem connecting to the chat. Trying to reconnect…

We have notified AOL’s twitter page and their response is below. There is no easily available workaround available at this time. However you may optionally sign into AOL using a free screen name (that has an age above 18) and download the AOL 9.5+ client. Head to the chat area and start chatting within the AOL program.

Obviously AOL only allows horny 21 year old lonely females to chat.

Although she states “message board” when infact it is a chatroom. Hopefully the forwarded screenshot of the AIM chatroom will be passed along to the tech manager.

I’ve had the same thing happening a ton lately. It says “error connecting” I’m trying to do what it says. I don’t think it will work.

In reference to the above error. I have done a warm boot, cold boot including shutting down the router and dsl modem along with the pc. Still have the same error. I have done a trace and here are the results. The ping gave me the expected results since I was timing out on the trace.

I am able to send and receive aim mail, can get to a chat area, just not able to send in any chat room. I have tried aol created rooms, user created rooms. All to no avail.

Im having a different problem…i made my aim account for my weemee tht got hacked so i can still get on the account…then i went on my backup account nd tryed to make her an aim by clicking export….but then after i got her rare items…i tryed 2 log on my aim account again 4 the 1 tht got hacked nd it logged me in 2 the backup account! can some1 plzzzz help me….whether u no how 2 switch bak 2 my normal account on aim or get my hacked account bak…either way i need help

AOL tends not to really give a flying… anything about AIM or it’s chatrooms. Unless it’s on one of their newer products that they’re trying to cater to the public, like AIM 7 now. This seems to be an issue with their chat servers, which undoubtedly they’d fix sooner than later. I use http://aimchatdirectory.net to get into popular AIM chatrooms rather than using chats.aim.com, and i’ve never seen an issue like that.
