Can’t Edit Buddy Info in Aim 7.3 Beta?
The buddy info option in Aim 7.3 beta is missing. AIM members are unable to edit the buddy info. Instead the buddy info button now links to AIM LIfestream. It’s possible that AIM Lifestream will act as the new profile page for AOL and AIM members, considering AOL has recent plans to either shut down or sell Bebo.
In order to update your buddy info you will need to use any version of AIM that is older than Aim 7.3.
We’ve recently found the reason why the buddy info is gone. Quoted from beta staff:
Good news! While Buddy Info is changing, you will (soon) have a place at Lifestream to provide the persistent information you used to place in Buddy Info!
Buddy Info will be returning, but as previously describe – in Lifestream. While it does require opening a browser window and signing in, the action of doing so from AIM will occur automatically and you shouldn’t have to manually sign in.
The steps being taken aren’t arbitrary, mind you. They’re coming with a bigger picture in mind and, hopefully, once we get there, you’ll fully approve. [via beta]
It appears AOL Lifestream will take place of the buddy info. It’s speculated Lifestream will become our new “profile system” as Bebo leaves AOL in May.

i just downloaded Aim 7.3 and i realized that the life stream has taken place of the buddy info. However when i try to change my profile on the lifestream by opening a web browser, it doesn’t change. I delete my old information, type new information and press save. When i sign off and sign back on again, my profile shows the old information again. How can i make the change permanent?
This has been happening to me for about a year. AOL won’t help because they only give support to to AOL online customers, and since AIM is free they dont help.
I’ve tried EVERYTHING, using different computers, deleting and reinstalling all versions of AIM I could find and even using a different client for Aim. Nothing helps.
I think it started when I enabled IM forwarding to my cellphone, but even if I shut that off it still will revert all the changes I make back to a profile I set in June 2009
this is the same thing that is happening to me. i tried downloading every AIM and i edit my buddy info, sign off then back in and it’s the same old stuff. i have many other screen names that if i change it, it will work. i just don’t feel like telling everyone to switch to that screen name since i like the screen name that the buddy info won’t work on. i would love to know the solution to this annoying problem.
Me too, I think a bunch of screen names are being affected by a server issue with AOL that they have yet to acknowledge or resolve
same thing….my biddy info has been replaced with the lifestream, if i go to my lifestreams i can edit it it’s just the box wont scroll down enuf tio let me click save and it’s not colorful. >>:::((((

yeah i can’t save any of my lifestream stuff. i can’t access the whole screen of the buddy info i want to change enough to save it. this is so retarded!
I have a different problem….wen i log on aim weeworld it brings up a totally different person nd i have no idea who it is
same issue. profile keeps reverting when I sign off to some profile info made years ago. Really gay.

i have been knocking my head against the wall, and all i got was a headache…
i tried to edit before, and as other people had a problem with the page would not scoll down enough to click save; i finally found by accident how to work this..
we simply have to think, ok whats the reason we cant see the whole page to click??
we have to maximize the page you know, where the X is up in the right hand corner theres a minimize and maximize; click to maximize ans there she is!
I mean it worked for me and i have lifestream too ok?
