Sooooooooooo………………..what’s the newest comment? The date on this page is Mar 16 and it looks to me as though the most recent update was 5/2009. Isn’t todays date 10//19/2010? Where is/are the most recent information that this link in my email is supposed to provide? Am I just a lost, confused soul or is is bebo making this way? LOL

WELL SAID JOE…..(COMMENT ABOVE ME) I TRIED USING BEBLOW PROFILES…I HATE THEM! THEY SUCK…PERIOD…PLUS ITS NEXT TO ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ ANYONES PROFILE IN CHAT….UNLESS YOU ADD THEM AS A FRIEND! Ok, I’m reading all of these concerns and complaints. I have to tell you that I experienced every single one on this page….Just about. With respect to the “Bebo Friends” or “Profile Friends” showing up on the AIM buddy list, again, I had the exact same problem…couldn’t delete it no matter what I did. I got used to the profile buddies group, chatting with many of my bebo friends and now, the damn group is gone all of a sudden! I can manually add the group to my aim buddy list, but there’s no one showing up on the list. Yet I ‘ve got over 100 bebo friends. Guess I’ll have to manually add each bebo friend into that group. Why do they do this kind of stuff? First, they force things on you, then, if you’re like me and adapt to it, they pull it out from under you! J@#US CHR#$T!

Since August 31st the second “about me” module which contained AOL/AIM profiles has read:

“Sorry for the inconvenience, this module is temporarily down for maintenance.”

Which means our AOL/AIM profiles are gone once again. I find it hard to believe this is temporary since older no longer listed modules such as code snippet says the same thing. I really hope this isn’t permenant as working within the puny 1,000 character limit and hyperlink-less Bebo “about me” module would be another crushing blow to the community.

Tek is a blog that just covers pretty much whatever I find interesting. There were a slew of complaints regarding BEBO since most people from AOL didn’t know it was going to happen, or they just hated BEBO in general.

As I’m sure you’ve read a number of times, there are some AOL members – like me – that do not access profiles very often. Ignoring this group and letting them “discover” a change as huge as this when they eventually DO have a need to look up someone’s profile was, IMHO, an oversight.

With all the other cr@p and advertising that AOL constantly displays, I don’t see why a change notice couldn’t have been included sometime during the transition.

OK, I’m done with my whining. To be honest, it doesn’t really matter much to me.

BTW, I found this site when I did a search of BEBO and AOL. But just out of curiosity, what part does Tek play in all of this?

@Pauley: Yes, before BEBO took over, AOL placed a yellow bar on top of every profile notifying you that there would be changes coming soon. This yellow bar was placed there for around 3-5 months.
