How to Cancel AIM/AOL Bebo Profile

The steps for removing your AIM/AOL account on Bebo is very easy. Just remember you can not reverse this process unless you want to contact Bebo staff on your own. You will not be able to go back to the old AIM Profiles.
1. Click Settings at the top of the page.
2. Click on “cancel my account”
3. Click “Yes, Cancel my Bebo Membership”
Here are some notes about canceling.
- You won’t be able to view most of your AIM or AOL friend’s profiles if they forgot to set the account to public.
- Be sure to inform your friends to set their profiles as public.
- You won’t be able to re-register the same AOL email address as a new account.
- To reactivate your profile you need to contact Bebo Support.
- It will take 24+ hours before you are fully removed from Bebo’s system. This includes the Profile Friends group on your buddy list and your status messages.

Wait, so there’s no way to get bebo friends off of your aim buddy list? Every time I delete it, it just comes back2 seconds later…
I want to make it go away.. how do I make it GO AWAY… I don’t want the bebo list there.
It’s possible to take it off, I’ve done it before. It’s just that the process is very specific.
1. You MUST delete EVERYONE on your Bebo.com friend’s list. You log into Bebo.com with your aim screen name, and click friends. You have to delete ALL of them.
2. However if anyone on your friends list cancelled Bebo before you remove them as a friend, they will stay on your buddy list. < This particular issue needs to be fixed by AOL.
I just got the bebo today, but, i don’t want to get rid of my account!

It’s just that there are certain conditions that won’t let you delete them. You have to hope those conditions don’t apply to you.
This is ridiculous i’m going to cancel my aim cos there are ppl on there that i really dont want!!!!!!!! BEBO SUCKS

@niKKi in your case, I tested this using another screen name to see what happens after you cancel your account while you have Bebo Friends still added. The Bebo Friends group stayed on my buddy list. The next day after I signed on the Bebo Friends group disappeared. If you can please post back tomorrow, tell me if the group is gone.
@Genice for now if you cancel your bebo account with friends on it , the buddy group will stay. Currently I need more people to test out if the group disappears the next day Please post back if the group stays or goes.

hi, i have a question- i don’t even HAVE bebo. when i saw this group pop up on my AIM account, i tried deleting it, but after that didn’t work, i looked online for answers. i saw people posting information about deleting all my friends on bebo and then it would go away. however, i dont even have ANY friends on bebo to delete! therefore i dont know why this group keeps popping up. please help :’( i really hate it and idk what to doooo!!!
If you have an AIM Screen name, you automatically have a Bebo account. You can cancel your Bebo account above, and report back if the Bebo Friends group disappears. It can take a few days before it disappears from the buddy list.
The Bebo Friends group just popped up yesterday on my buddylist… with an exgirlfriend. Erk.
So, naturally I googled the issue and came up with this site!
But, to no avail… I deleted all my friends off of my bebo friends list on the bebo site. I then tried manually deleting the group “bebo friends” from my buddylist… it popped back up.
So, I rechecked my bebo.com’s friends list and it’s empty. I then cancelled my account.
It’s now over 24 hours later and the group is still there.
What gives?
I can’t have my ex on my buddylist… I’ve used this screen name for years and tons of people know-it-by-heart and contact me with it daily… so, I can’t just make a new screen name that easily.

I just have 3 people so far confirming it gets deleted after you cancel, but that number is too small to report it as a correct workaround.
My advice for now is to try again tomorrow. Please sign on and off throughout the day using an official AOL or AIM program.
I had this pop up at the same time as my computer got a horriable virus. so after i system restored and it just so happened to pop up again. I just want reassurance that it is not part of a virus.
It also seems that the Bebo people are the people on your Block list.
“Bebo Friends” is not a virus. Its the friends you have from AIM profiles that were transferred to Bebo. AOL bought Bebo last year which is why you now have a Bebo account.
Aol transfered my info to Bebo with out any regard to my privacy. Either find me a way to cancel all of this, or I am filing a serious companit. Aol tells me I can sign in with my name and password and there is a place to cancel somewhere in this info. But, I have never registered never had a password, etc. this is just plain fraud and it must be corrected.
You log into Bebo with your AIM screen name. There’s an aim section on the right most tip of Bebo.com
I deleted my Bebo account as said you had to up there.
Then I went to AIM express and i now got rid of the Bebo list.
I hope it stays like that!

I dont like how everytime i change my status message on aol that bebo thing updates my budyinfo, its really annoying and i want to get rid of it. i deleted my bebo account and its still there!

I’m with Ash and the people below him; my buddy info now has a history of status changes which I don’t want to keep.

I think it takes a day to actually cancel a bebo account, my status isn’t being saved anymore now! =)
Peter’s right. My account doesn’t save the status anymore after I canceled the account. Now I just have to wait until that update goes away…

Ok, well after 8 confirmations, I will finally update this post with this information.
What is this bebo profile…I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!! people appear on my buddy list that I dont want there….WHY WHY WHY cant we have the old profiles back…so we can check a person out to see if we want to talk to them….Why can’t you leave things alone AOL!!!! I have a AIM account from years ago and bebo crap comes up and starts publicly listing all my PRIVATE information, so the first google search on my name: there’s all your private information! I still could find no way to make it private after about 3 months of turning off every single setting, and now I try to actually *DELETE* all accounts, STILL won’t let my private information be private. STILL for about a month my deleted account is the first result on a google search. THIS IS ABSOLUTE CRAP I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR BEBO, I NEVER SAID I WANTED MY PRIVATE INFORMATION LISTED
