How to Stop AIM Zones or Aim Dashboard from Popping Up When Windows Starts
A very frequently asked question. Not that its hard to do but I guess people can’t find it? Anyways follow the steps below on how to get rid of Aim Dashboard:
Disable AIM Zones or Aim Dashboard from Popping Up In Internet Explorer
- Open Aim 7
- Click Menu
- Click Settings
- Click Sign In / Sign Out
- Click None
- Click Save
Disable AIM From Starting When Windows Starts
- Open Aim 7
- Click Menu
- Click Settings
- Click Sign In/ Sign Out
- Uncheck Start Aim When Windows Starts
- Click Save
You’ll need to do this to each and every screen name you have on the Sign On screen as its different settings per screen name. And thats all there is to this. If you have a mac, commenter Aaron left instructions for you.
Disable AIM Zones or Dashboard on a Mac
- Click Aim
- Click Preferences
- Uncheck “Show AIM start page when I sign in”

I still want AIM 6 to come up on startup (which it does), but don’t want the AIM Zone website to come up on Startup. Can I do one without the other?

Thank you! I had found the Edit/Settings/Sign In – Sign Out page, and checked the “none” radio button. Then closed the window. But it kept changing back! After confirming (via your instruction) that I had checked the correct button, I realized my error.
I use a Netbook computer, and the display is shorter than the dialog box, so the “Save” option was not visibile on screen. No scroll bar was provided, so I had been closing the window with the “x” in the upper right. When I just used the ‘Tab’ key to choose the off-screen option and hit ‘Enter’ it saved my change. Thanks!
This might have already been explained, but I have a really old version of aim that I never use. All of a sudden Aim zones was my new homepage, I obviously changed it back. But now when I try to click the gmail link it takes me to that aim zones website. How do I remove that redirection? It is really frustrating.
