AIM Host Issue [Resolved]
Agh aren’t we having way too many AIM problems lately. A message displaying “Connection Timed Out” is affecting Aim 6.8, Aim Webmail, Aim Lite, practically all versions of AIM. By reports of users there seems to have been an outage on June 17, 2008, but it should be cleared up by now.
This was fixed the same day and it was found to be an AIM Host Issue.
If you are still affected by the outage and need to sign onto Aim, Try Aim 5.9
Does anyone know when we will be able to log in?
There is no news, no fix, and no update. So in the meantime you’ll just have to wait.

I am having the ‘connection timed out’ error happen on one of my screen names; the others login fine, but one name doesn’t. THis happens on AIM 6.5, 5.9 and AIM Express. Does anyone ahve any ideas?
Solved my own problem; the user was a kid, who had Parental Controls enabled. A pity AOL/AIM couldn’t report the denial rather than saying ‘connection lost’.
A little help plz. I go on AOL message boards. Don’t have time to use my desktop I’m always on the GO. So I got a cell with total internet all was fine till july 07 I can not post on the AOL boards no more. Help Plz. Mikey!

it works well its timed out…. for now.
mines not working at all.. i restarted the internet, the computers, tried using AOL mail, tried it on my phone, tried a different screen name, and it all says “connection timed out”
i can use the internet and msn fine though? what the heck..
I am having the same problem…one screen name won’t work, but my other really old one will. All other messengers work though.
None of mine will work/ I don’t remember the password.. and my myspace is also having problems. Do you think we’re getting ahcked somehow?

I got kicked off of AIM about 30 minutes ago…I am getting the “connection timed out” message, but only for my main screenname. I have an old one I never use, and this one seems to work just fine, but my main sn still isn’t wokring. Help???

My sn is "timed" out as well (and has been for the past 24 hours or so)… I have tried adium, aim, and trillian with no luck… other than that my internet is fine…
Yeah, it’s done this to me once already, 2 weeks ago, and it’s doing it today. I’ve noticed, however, that it lets me sign in on my other screen names, just not this one. I use AIM 6, and when I went on my other screen names, it said that the one screen name that wasn’t working was linked to the one i was signed on to. But it wouldn’t let me get to that buddylist. This is really annoying. Does anyone know what’s up with it?

This is the second time this has happened to me in the last two or three weeks. You can’t message AIM about the problem, they just direct you to the useless FAQ. I can sign on to other screen names, but none that I’d care to use. Trillian doesn’t even work, and I haven’t been able to log on for about an hour and a half. Why does this keep happening and has anyone found a way to contact AIM about it?
I have the problem when I try to video chat. It has been working fine except for the last few nights.. weird.
This is so annoying! What is up? I can sign in on aim.com but I can’t use im on any program. It says the connection timed out on iChat and Aim 4.7 for Mac doesn’t work either! Does anyone have any ideas? If anyone fixed the problem, let me know.
By the way, why did everyone stop posting after the end of May? Has everyone found a cure? I don’t wanna be the only one who hasn’t. Please help me!
i jst got the problem today randomly so wat should i do d/load a new version? or make a naew screen name how fken ghetto is this no wonder ppl use myspace
You could think of this like a rolling blackout. Now unfortunately it may or may not block your screen name from signing on with other clients but your welcome to download any other versions of AIM and try signing on. If it works on another client, then you should use that client until this “rolling blackout” is fixed later in the day.
Just had the same problem with AIM too. So what was your solution? Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling it?
Uninstalling and Reinstalling it won’t work, because its an AIM server issue, not your client. Unless you have a firewall blocking the connection.
I just got this same problem today. Downloaded aim 6.8. Still doesn’t work . WTF? Is it just a matter of the waiting game or what? At first it wouldn’t let me log in on Pidgin either but now I can so that’s better than nothing.

yeah i think that problem has returned. one of my screen names can sign on but it won’t sign on my linked screen name and i can’t sign directly onto my one screen name (that is the linked one..) separately either. i was just online earlier…aim express doesn’t work either. lame - hope its not a hack

Does your Am Mail say temporary maintenance ?
