I really don't get all of this "Simcity is too hard for little kids". Really, Simcity encouraged me to play it, as it felt impossible from a five year old's perspective. I was ovverjoyed when I was able to race into the living room and say I had finally balanced my budget. Really,SCS makes a mockery of what a five year old can achieve.

There willl be no Simcity 6, EA says, but on Simtropolis a guy is making a 3d city game going to what people want for it, some things WILL be ruled out, but at least it will be nice.

I wasn't even expecting a Sim city 5, but the EPIC FAIL SCS came along. I didn't know it at the time and I bought it. Then I realized this, why are the roads so square and what are this "societal values" for?! I mean that's not realistic. for one thing, tell me a city-any city- which has a perfect grid road network! I don't know these "societal values" do. I mean, it's like the petitioners in the older SCs saying "You need more police stations!" (for authority) but it's worse! Whole buildings don't work if you have less than a 0 in any "societal value"! In the other SCs you could fix it in no time by building a police station (in the case of crime) or whatever. You could mod, it but I don't understand how it works, but for SimCity 4, you could go to Simtropolis to get downloads to a several trusted mods. And the preceding is only a few reasons I HATE this game!!! Had I had more time I would personally contact Tilted Mills! FU SCS and FU Tilted Mills! We Simcity fans want something better for Simcity 6!

I am very unsatisfied with what is called simcity5, I stopped playing that game and went back to simcity4, only after playing the game for about a week. I just wish they would come out with a new game that was more realistic to what everyone has been describing in these posts. There is so much that can be done to improve simcity4 and yet I feel that the makers disregarded everything in which the fans love about the game. Marcos is right, this game does suck!!!!!!!!

This game is crap, i liked the complexity, and all of those factors seemed to disapear off the face of the Earth when EA created this. The street pattern is boring, there are no health, fire, and police needs and u choose what is built, I thought it was fun to see what they would build. and if i get over 1,500 people the game gets slow. I may be a preteen but im proud to say I hope that they make a REAL sim city 5.

I am generally disappointed (actually very angry) that Simcity's game play and graphics have take a turn from a good challenge and realistic, to a game that a child can play and the graphics are pitiful (mostly because it is cartoon like).
Overall, this game doesn't impress me, because the creators have totally disregarded all of the TRUE simcity gamers, the ones that have watch the game grow from a great city builder (1), to a game with disasters with the ability to make your own maps (2), to a game with better graphics with heightened strategic game play (3), to a game with superior graphics, the ability to make whole regions, access to download mods and buildings from the internet, and a complex infrastructure that we have come to love as true fans of the series(4), to a game with little say in the map's creation, block buildings, non-realistic everything, and gameplay which quote on quote "can be learned by a 5-year old". For this is a disgrace to the series.
The only thing that they did right is not call it simcity5, because it wouldn't deserving of that title.
Those are my thoughts

Here's another quote, "THIS GAME SUCKS" That one is by Marcos to which I agree

The whole thing that made simcity 4 so fun was the complexity, and all the different factors. I mean, since the graphics were 2D/3D, the buildings looked more realistic than 3d because 3d takes up more cpu cycles and memory and space, forcing the game mechanics to have to be simplified. 2d graphics allowed the city to be much bigger without slowing down the computer, and the game even calculated traffic, one person at a time, for morning and evening!! there were so many factors and variables and different roads and parks and everything was awesome. I think that simcity 6 should bring back all of the complexity and realism of simcity 4, and then some. the tradeoff would be graphics, but then again, red alert 3 and age of empires 3 were able to pull it off, right?

This game is horrible. I was expecting SimCity 5 and instead got SimCity: Fisher Price! For some, this may be great, but for those hardcore SC4 folks, pass it up.

I have played and I THINK IT'S THE WORST SIMCITY EVER! I really expect it to be just a fail spin-off. Building build-by-build is very boring and not challenging. You don't have any administrative tasks over your city. you are not the mayor any longer, you are a kind of fidel castro of the city, who decides whatever or not build something or however do something.

You have no longer taxes, RCI demands, the money you get is directly the money your population work provides. You have no longer problems as unemployment or health and education. all you have to do is to provide a new work, health plant and the jobs is done.

THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!!

My review extends similarly- this game seems to be a combo of sim city with the urban renewal kit from ages ago. You can not only build your city but design it too- the perfect combo between civil engineering and architecture/urban planning. In the detailed modes, you can build your communities too into a sprawling city. It is well designed for those purposes but yes, there are a few kinks in the form such as the perpetually squared off roads with no room for inventiveness should you detest a generic grid. But remember, this is the first intallment of the next generation of versions to come our way.

EA dropped the ball on their monopoly when they decided to make this game.

Sim City fans (of previous titles) enjoyed the series for its simulation, not its "urban feel". Yes, it was a city, but for most players the urban sprawl and comical landmark names were not the chief reason we played; it was figuring out how to crowd as many people as possible into a metropolous and keep them happy, all while within budget.

I cannot say whether this new game is a good game; I will not play it, because I do not find "cities" to be an aestheticly pleasing motif. I prefer resource management.

What EA should have done was to forgo their attempt to bank on the Sim City name, called this game "Societies" alone, and still worked with Maxis to improve Sim City's game mechanics and graphics. It would still have sold (to a different audiance, like "the Sims") and would not have incensed so many fans.

Again, Sim City was a monopoly in games; no other company made an urban simulator to hold a candle to it.
