What Does it Mean When Your Aim Account Is Suspended?
When your Aim Account is suspended, you will not be able to sign into AIM at all and will be blocked from receiving email. Unfortunately the chances of getting your account reinstated and turn back on is slim and for the most part, people never get it turned back on. Recently however, AOL has been sending out emails when your account gets suspended so that you are informed before attempting to sign on.
Can I Unsuspend My Account?
Unsuspending an account is very rare, and doesn’t happen very often, but its not impossible. Paid AOL screen names can restore service by calling AOL and someone will be able to inform you as to why your account was suspended.
Suggestions
One of my commenters, ikeism, gave a tip on how to reinstate your Aim account if it gets suspended for no reason. Aim accounts appear to get suspended for seemingly no reasons at all. Its suspected your account may be comprimised and used to send spam, although I believe someone with access is deliberately suspended accounts. ikeism suggested you call AOL at (800) 827-3338 and choose the option that you want to sign up for a AOL. When you get connected to customer support, tell them that your willing to pay to get your account back on. They will look into why it got suspended and then reactivate you. They gave another number 888-758-0297 that you can call if your screen names were to get suspended again.

I think that is dum to pay for aim. Its true alot of people us sidekicks or there computer. If we do pay it then people wont have a way to speack to family and friends who live far.
Why should we pay for aim when it is supposed to be for the public, u should be making money off the endorsements that are constantly posted. If u make ppl pay for Aim not onli will u lose money but u will also lose valuable aol customers and that keeps money out of your pocket

OMG my account was suspended! I DID NOT do anything! It says my screen name violated the terms of use but the only part that could have was the: randomgirl part…but im just describing me! i’m random sometimes! And now i can’t talk to my friends and that is a very crucial thing to a teenager!!

I got the suspended message and clicked a few times then came back to it a few minutes later and it worked….not really sure what happened.
I had the same unexplained suspension issue. However, after upgrading to aim 6.0 it let me in. No idea why. Since the majority of you seem to have been suspended on 6.0, it may be worth a try to install an older version and try to log in again. Hope this helps.
my account got suspended today all of the sudden for no reason
i couldn’t get back on that sn, but my other sn’s were fine
i decided to try logging onto my aim email and as soon as i did, the only message in my inbox was an autoreply that said my account had been reactivated after being dormant.
so basically, try logging into your aim email. as soon as i did my screen name was fine!
I had this happen to me tonight. I was signed into AIM and went to check my email and it kept saying I it was an invalid screenname or the wrong password. I couldnt figure out what was going on so I signed out of AIM and tried to sign back in and it said my name had been suspended. I freaked out, Ive had my screen name/email for 8 yrs.
i searched and searched for a soultion, I tried every website and every soultion I could and nothing would work. finally I found something that did…
I googled an earlier version of aim. ( i think i did 5.9) I tried to sign into that one and it didnt work. So I pulled back up the newer version ( i didnt delete it when I DLed the old version) and It worked perfectly..email and everything.
Well I’ll add these suggestions to the list of things you can do.

This just happend to my friend… Just make a new aol account i guess as for your friends list you would lose them bc AIM are greedy money grubs and want you to pay for there accounts.. unless you called them and started freaking out thats what i would do.. say “WHY DID IT GET BANNED THIS IS BULLSHIT” lol then keep freaking out like that and maybe they will unblock it.

For no reason January 2010 I try to sign in to AIM and my mail and my account is suspended. I dont use it for chats or anything so I did nothing to be suspended. Maybe AIM did a sweep and suspended names that were previous AOL names. Anyway I decided to try to sign on the aaol messaging through my cellphone and it let me on. With the same password I have been using, so obviously my account isnt hacked. I cant sign on through the computer but my cell worked. Not sure if this will help anyone else who out of no where is suspended.
