BumpX is the original Aim 6.1 black and green skin. You must be using Aim 6.1.41.2 to install the skin. If you are unsure of which version of Aim you have, click Help > About Aim to find out your version. The instructions to install this skin requires the knowledge of opening of two windows, the ability to open ZIP files, and you must be able to drag or copy and paste files. One should always backup their files incase anything goes wrong.

A. These instructions will require you to overwrite files without inserting any codes. You may do this by copy and pasting over the original file, or drag and drop the file into the specified folder. This will install one theme only.

A. This theme currently ONLY supports Aim 6.1.41.2, you can get this version at FileHippo.

1. Go to the Folder Below:
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\theme\
2. Create a New Folder Titled Exactly as it is Cased, "bumpX"
3. Extract brushes.box AND the images folder inside the "bumpX" folder
Your Folders should now contain the files:
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\theme\bumpX
–brushes.box
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\theme\bumpX\images
–icon_selector.png
–module_hovered.png
–module_normal.png
–module_press.png
–module_selected.png
4. Go to the Folder Below:
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\aimToolkit\ver6_1_41_2\theme\
5. Create a New Folder Titled Exactly as it is Cased, "bumpX"
6. Extract brushes_default.box AND bumpx.png in this directory.
Your Folder should now contain the files:
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\aimToolkit\ver6_1_41_2\theme\bumpX
–brushes_default.box
–bumpx.png
7. Navigate to the Folder Below:
C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\content\bl
8. Extract blGadgets.box in this directory.
This will install the theme to become choosable in the color picker, now your done. Save this file and your done. As you can see the steps to install a theme are pretty crazy, hopefully this could be made easier in the future.
well i really like this skin but i cant install aim 6.1 for some reason so i was wondering if you could post the code part for version 6.0
Well it should work but you’ll just have to change the directory of ver6_1_32_1 to whatever is supposed to be there. I think its ver6_0_16_1? You’ll have to check.
this is a really sweet skin, i installed it every way you said to, once i reopen aim, theres no bumpX in the color picker.
What version do you have?

It didn’t work for me either but I figure out why, to let it work you gotta delete that code above “box:hflow” cause that is the original one then copy and paste the code that he told you to copy, it’s pretty much replacing it. then open up aim and click on the color button it should show a black square with a light green dot, click on that and you got the theme ^.^”.
Well at the time I made this for Aim 6.1, I had the extra line of code inserted at the bottom. I didn’t replace it. So I’m not sure why it didn’t work.
Where is the color picker in this version? i have everything done right, just dont know where the color picker is

Top Right corner. If you don’t have Aim 6.1 or Aim 6.2 you won’t see it.

This is fixed in Aim 6.2 so You can upgrade at beta.aol.com

Every time I alter the “dlGadgets.box” file in the manner stated above (in Step 12), the aim 6.1 refuses to load, only allowing me to im other people and stating that i am connected, but does not show my buddies or anything else found one the aim buddy list. Can someone please help me…? :/

im at step 6, but theres no bumpX.png anywhere. did i do something wrong?
Bumpx.png is in the zip file, so yes you forgot to extract it.
ok so i extracted the zip file, but theres still no bumpx.png
I see it in the zip file in the bumpx folder, not sure why you don’t see it.
