Well this isn’t as frequent as other problems, but I think its time to mention how to fix this. Quite a few people get this error and it can be seriously annoying having to click OK plenty of times. So here are the steps you must do to get rid of the debug error popups in Aim 6.1.
How To Disable Debug Error Popups
–Open Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7
–Press ALT+T
–Click Internet Options
–Click Advanced TAB
–Checkmark Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)
–Checkmark Disable Script Debugging (Other)
–Click OK
–Close Internet Explorer
–Restart Aim 6.0 or Aim 6.1
thank you! i was getting the debugging errors for “just in time debugging” and this fixed it!
that helped a ton.
thanks!
thank you so much! that debugging thing was driving me crazy. I couldn’t fix it so I just lived with it for months. Probably should have googled it sooner. Oh well. Thanks!
This did not work for me and I think it is because I am connected to a VPN. Are there different instructions for VPN users?
I don’t believe VPN matters in this case. Unless your work related computer or laptop prevents you from disabling Script Debugging, which can happen if the company installed Microsoft’s Script Debugger software, or any other Visual Basic program that automatically pops up when you get an error message. Your computer may have "Visual InterDev 6.0" or "Office 2003" which both have built in script debugging functions that pop up automatically. If you disable script debugging within these programs then Internet Explorer won’t pop up with that message.
Check for an entry in Internet Explorer under the advanced tab that says: Display A notification about every script error" and uncheck mark that box, save and restart Internet Explorer and Restart Aim.
HA! months? hell i couldn’t even deal with that for 6 minutes and i googled it. kudos to you on your patience.
oh i thought i fixed it but a few days later it comes again ~
i fixed a gain bu it doesnt work~
DUDE WOW THANKS. LEts see if it works
Hai, question here. Im running xp i.e. 6 (cant run 7 cause it messes up my wireless), and in iexp. options advanced tab there is no script debugging (other). Only script debugging internet explorer is present.
Couple of programs not working because of that, is there any way to turn off script debugging (other), like trough the registry settings, or another way? Tx for the site.
I don’t know of any way. What you can do is just turn it off while your using AIM then turn it back on after your finished.
