How To Save Your Buddy List on Aim 6

Another Frequently Asked Question, for now the only way to save your buddy list in Aim 6.5 is to download the plugin called Buddy List Options.

This plugin enables you to Import and Export your buddy list so that you can transfer them to your friends and buddies.

Its expected this feature will be included into the Aim series one day.

To Save your Buddy List in Aim 6

• Download Buddy List Operations
• Install and Run
• Open AIM and Sign on
• Click View > Plugins
• Click Buddy List Save
• Sign off AIM
• Sign onto second AIM screen name
• Click View > Plugins
• Click Buddy List Load

 

To Send your Buddy List in Aim 6.

• Click Actions
• Click Buddy List Save
• Open IM with the buddy
• Click Send File
• Find the .blt file you saved and send.

 

To Save your Buddy List in Aim 5.9

• Click My AIM
• Click Save Buddy List

 

Now you can Save and Send your buddy list to whomever you want to. Keep the *.blt file in handy because there might be occasions where your buddy list gets deleted but you don’t remember all the screen names you had. If you didn’t save your buddy list there is no way you can restore it. If you need help type a comment below.

  Thanks so much..this is so annoying, why don’t they put this on their website? I had to search all over for it. I thought I was just not seeing the "My AIM" option. This worked!

  now im trying to ADD a buddy, and there is no add buddy option now, because the pluggin is in the way.

  This plugin slows my AIm a tad in the settings box

  I’m Using a sidekick and I’m trying to add more buddies. But i allready have 200. What can i do??? I don’t have a computer

  I saw "Dat Dude" ask a question about a .dll file earlier, and someone said that it was explained above.. which I don’t see. Can anyone help me, because I’m having the same problem..

  This feature is automatically available when you upgrade to Aim 6.8. So my only recommendation now is to download Aim 6.8.

  many people are saying that this didnt work, and it didnt for me until i opened the document i saved in wordpad and found out that even though i thought i was saving my old screennames buddylist i was actually saving the new one (with nothing in it) so when i went to load it nothing actually changed. the reason for my confusion was that i had linked the screennames together and was saving while being logged on to the new account. as soon as i tried it from saving from the old account the program worked perfectly
