My AIM 6.0 does that when I try to view Buddy Information. It doesn't effect me too much but I've done some research.

It may help to re-install java or your internet server. That may work. If not, I would suggest downloading a new server or scanning the computer with a security/debugging software. Goodluck(:

The error is a result of a corrupt, missing or incomplete files in the browser cache. To fix this error, clear IE's "Temporary Internet Files" (in IE7 go to Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History, Delete... etc.). Once the temporary files are gone, AIM should start without this error. --Joe

I forgot to add that the only drawback I found of using the U.K. version of AIM Express is that I wasn't able to send IMs to people on their U.S.-based cell phones.

I know no one else who uses AIM Express, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this problem discussed here!

This "stack overflow" phenomenon had, for me, one additional characteristic that hasn't yet been mentioned here: upon my opening of AIM Express, the little error window with the "stack overflow" message would appear many, many times -- sometimes up to 20. I'd have to close every error window in order to proceed. And then, as discussed here, a new "stack overflow" error message would pop up every time I tried to type a comment. It even came when a buddy was initiating a conversation with me; and this sometimes caused the buddy's first message to me to be lost.

The problem has actually disappeared for me as of this week (since Mon. Jan 22); but it plagued me for weeks. Before this week, the only way I got around the "stack overflow" problem was to use the U.K. version of AIM Express at aimexpress.aol.co.uk . The error occurred only rarely with that version, as opposed to constantly with the U.S. version

A co-worker and I have been having the same problem. It is the only IM we are able to sneak through. Though occasionally a totally new version will show up and work but then it's like they take that one down and put up the old crappy one again. I think this is something on AIM's side and (not liking it) have to wait for them to fix it.

none of your suggested fixes works. I'm extremely interested in a fix for this. It occurs in multiple sites for me... at the college where I teach, and also at a customer site with no firewall at all.

feel free to email me.

I agree! I have been receiving that same error message when sending and receiving IM's. I googled the problem was told to go to tools, internet options, advanced, and check the box to disable the debugging script and uncheck the box about receiving a notification everytime a error message is sent. Still Nothing!!! Help!!! Work is soooo boring and I can't download. I will go crazy!
