Aim 6.0 Plugin Status

By WBMike  //  Uncategorized  //  2 Comments

Message for Mercedesxlane: You added an extra character in your link and is redirecting visitors to the wrong post.

The actual link is

http://bumped.org/tek/2009/05/25/second-sims-3-leak-now-claims-to-be-final-version/

1. No we do not provide the link to the actual download and we are just reporting the event.

2. The post did not say the “buggy pre-final” leak is the final version, instead it says another group released a new leak and is claiming that their leak is the final version. It’s too early to tell right now over what has been fixed in between the first and second leak.

3. Yes you can expect a patch to  fix bugs, that has already been verified on three different sites. We do not know what bugs will be fixed inside of the patch at this time.

It appears all Aim 6.0 plugins through the Aim Gadgets package such as: Myplaylist, Buddy List Ops, Buddy Icon Maker, etc… are down. You will have to wait until they are reactivated again. This means you’ll be unable to Save Buddy List, Display Songs in your Buddy Profile, and Set Buddy Icon through the Actions Menu.

Can’t Block Jess2feb07, Won’t Stop IMing You?

By WBMike  //  AOL  //  6 Comments

A minor issue is going on with the bot Jess2Feb07. The bot sometimes malfunctions and repeatedly sends you IMs without you initiating a conversation. Remember to type "cancel" to stop conversations with her. You may have tried reporting and blocking her but the reason why those don’t work is because its an official AIM Bot. You can try it out for yourself by blocking "AOL SYSTEM MSG". You’ll notice IMs still go through.

This is so funny – The New Myspace Phishing Spam?

By WBMike  //  Myspace  //  1 Comment

This is so Funny, Open this plz cuz i liek to spam

Well its nothing new to say that Myspace has spam, but a new company believes its so funny to send spam in a different way, User Interaction. Yes it seems apparently this isn’t the leet hax0rz xss script that sends out spam once you click. Nope…. This is a site that wants you to input your username and password so that you can send the same page to all your friends. So a site with a very suspicious domain name with a very suspicious login page with some very suspicious unprofessional "terms" still manages to gather a plethora of kids as well as minorities who somehow think its so funny. So what does this site do? Lets look at its terms shall we…

Aim Express: Stack Overflow Error at line 0

By WBMike  //  AOL  //  15 Comments

I’ve been receiving a couple of complaints that Aim Express displays the error message, “Stack Overflow Error at line 0″ everytime you attempt to send and recieve a message. This error often times makes Aim Express unsuable. It is likely caused by a Javascript glitch, where IE displays a message that there is a script is slowing down your computer. I’ll update this entry everytime a solution is found. If you have any solutions you found even if its temporary, post a comment below and I’ll add it to the aim wiki. This is an AOL HOST issue, which means AOL must fix it, there is nothing wrong with your computer.

Update 02.01.2007| AOL has fixed this issue.

Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista

By WBMike  //  Vista, Yahoo  //  1 Comment

Yahoo premiered its new Windows Vista line. Its basically Yahoo’s answer to Aim Triton. It features some interesting touches and features that puts it as a strong opponent against the Aim Empire. The Friends list is displayed neatly ontop of each other with a icon preview of each of their names. A green or red bar next to their picture displays their online status. The most interesting feature is the Widgets and Skins areas. You can move a friend over to the Yahoo Widgets sidebar to see their status all the time. You can also change the skins of the program instantly with a click on the color wheel. You can change it to Opaque with different colors, or you can choose a texture such as grass and woodgrain. They also added tabbing, which right now is kind of clunky. For every new IM window you must drag that window over another window’s tab area. These two windows will merge to form a tabbed conversation. Hopefully they allow a setting that makes all windows become tabbed regardless. Yahoo messenger supports transparent windows with the Windows Vista Aero theme, however it looks rather silly when multiple IM windows show up. There’s more to come but you can take a video tour at the new preview page.

T-Mobile finally allows Opera Mini, Gmail, and Google Maps

By WBMike  //  Cell, Opera, T-Mobile  //  4 Comments

Finally, for years T-mobile has blocked Java Midlet Applications from accessing the internet. Because of this, forums would get flooded with "WHY MY TMOB RAZR WUNT WORK WIT OPERA HALP!!!" The only way to fix this is to modify your phone. You would have to shell out some cash just to buy a data cable to connect to your PC. Then you’d have to unlock the phone and change some settings to allow access. Well from December 18 this is no more. No more waiting for the slow internal WAP browser to scroll down one page of text. Now you are able to access any of your favorite Java Apps with no data connection erros. While testing the different applications, I have found that Opera Mini and Gmail seems to work the best. Google Maps on the otherhand is pretty slow and your actually better off using the WAP version. While your having fun with your new apps, you can probably disregard the upcoming post about a review of the popular WAP sites.
