Shared Storage Box Increased in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity

Posted by Ricardo

Hi guys, quick early morning update. Yesterday Sakai asked if your Shared Storage Box was full, today he made an announcement regarding that.

The total item count for Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity is around 3000, but where are you going to store it all?

Shared Storage Box 300x170

It appears when creating this game, there is a a limited amount of memory for storing data. If the game exceeds this memory limit, it can come to a complete stop. When you increase the size of the Shared Storage box, it also increases the size of the save data. So due to the magic of programming, the Shared Storage Box capacity has increased from 1000 to 2000.

He also mentions there’s a way you can stop selling items accidentally, (which we all know as the item lock feature.)

Additional Comments

You see them squiggly lines at the bottom right corner? It says Episode 1. Could this mean portions of the game are separated from each episode?

  • Phantasy Star Portable 2 Japan has put up a notice today on how they will be banning players who violated the terms of conduct through hacking and user misconduct.

PSU Japan

I haven’t even looked at PSU Japan in quite some time. They are getting DLC items that were previously exclusive for PSP2 Japan. Also expect to see a PSO10th Anniversary event down the line. Click for larger images.

Personally, I’m more looking forward to the item lock. Oh sure, 2000 is amazing, but making sure I keep the ones I want despite having temporary lapses into being a moron and trying to accidently delete or sell it is nice. I just hope the lock is button activated and not in the same little menu as ‘Send to Storage’ and ‘Discard’. >_>;;

I certainly love the item lock function, because I have sold few item accidentally.

But 2000 storage? I kind of hope that they can increase it like… up to 5000

I’d say 2000 is very good, coupled with an item lock function like PSU PC/PS2 has in Japan it’s even better.

Hi, greetings from Quebec.
Just wanted to compliment you on the quality of your blog. It has become one of my favourite information sources on Phantasy Star related news. You are really doing an excellent job at keeping the news coming with very good translations – in proper english.

thanks for all the hard work!

On the topic of storage box, I actually hope they have a better way of classifying items than the current PSP2 system. I actually wish the various sections of the storage were organized like the shops: by subcategory of weapons (melee, ranged, technic). With 3000 items, it will become unmanageable without sub categories (applies to shields and units as well).

Nothing has been decided yet. But I really doubt they’ll organize an CBT 2nd : they have to release the game ASAP, to make people pay. And excepted the lag issue that could be resolved during the OBT,

I remember reading something about another possible closed beta before they did open beta again, did they scratch that or did it already happen?

And the higher chance you can get, when only one item is missing, is 1/34 ; which it stays very low, imo. 1/34 chance to win per every 100 or 200円 put into the gachan… Erk…

But, of course, the more you play past the 10 first attempts, the more you increase your chances to win dramatically.
