You have to wait until they post it. Otherwise I can't fill in what it might be.

Perhaps they are going to patch a little bit at a time for the subclass update so you don't have to download 500mb+ at once. Just speculation.

Looks like they updated the cheat detection tools and they updated the lobby with the trailer for the Sept update.

This new PSO2.exe file is new to me. What is it and where do you extract it?
I would assume you would place it in the same folder as the normal launcher?

For Evangel, the game is very long to start. For me it takes 5-10 minutes after I click on the "Play" button.
Just click on it and leave your computer alone 5-10 minutes and the game will start.
It works like this for me.

@evangel – use the PSO2.exe DarK-SuN uploaded
@greg – some people (like evangel and myself) got screwed up PSO2.exe in the update. DarK-SuN help us uploading a good PSO2.exe

For some reason my update doesn't run, it doesn't download anything, just freezes up, like this:

Anyone knows why?

That's not freezing, that's updating. Check your network traffic to see if there is anything being downloaded. If there is, the launcher is doing its work.

Yeah I know it is not exactly freezing, I mean the download doesn't start at all, and yeah, I double checked if anything is downloading and there are non, also I even turned off my firewalls.

@DarkSun
I found out how to fix the pso2.exe with a single batch line. I wrote a batch file which works on my system (Win 7 x64)
Just make a batch file with the following content:
@echo off
Icacls pso2.exe /T /grant:r "[INSERT USERNAME]":(OI)(CI)F
exit

Good find, hope that helps people.

Or you could select all the .exe files in the folder and when you check out the Permissions tab in Properties it will ask you if you want to reset the permissions.

Well it's easier to create that batch file with your username in it inside the PSO2 folder and just double click it everytime you updated.
@Anon I used to do it like you just explained. Then when I was making batch files for backupping the win32 folder and stuff I thought there might be a batch solution for that administrator rights problem as well and then I found out about Icacls.exe

@X-shunin: how do I go about creating this batch file? I would love to see if it works!
If it matters, I'm currently running Windows 8 RTM, 64-bit.

Make a textfile, put in
@echo off
Icacls pso2.exe /T /grant:r “[INSERT USERNAME]“:(OI)(CI)F
exit
where you insert your username of your PC without the brackets and save it as howeveryouwanttonamethis.bat (.bat is important) then just double click it. Maybe you need to run is as Admin.

Oh and save it into the same folder where your pso2.exe is located.
(Sorry for double post)

One of the things I've noticed in this patch is that any external programs that have in-game overlays are being blocked. Both Steam Overlay and FRAPS are no longer accessible/visible while playing, and both worked fine prior to the patch. Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

how long are you leaving it up and is this the first time you've patched the game? The full update from a new game is 3.8 GB and take take several hours to download. even if you're only trying to get teh latest patch, it's 122mb and it can be several minutes before the progress bar indicates change. Without an error message, it's most likely just taking it's time to update the bar.

Well, now I get an error, so like you said, but I download the game on the 20th of August, I think, I'm have a picture that shows the error.

The first time I let it to update, went much further than from image, but now I don't know whats happening.

Does anyone know when they're going to make PSO2 compatible w/Windows 8? (since that's apparently the problem >_>")

Ok, now I have a new problem, but I can't explain this problem before the game was open to me perfectly well, I wonder if anyone knows a way to solve or can tell me what it means?
