Phantasy Star Universe Receives New Areas and Valkyria Chronicles Outfits
Today we’ll talk briefly about the new areas that are coming to Japanese Phantasy Star Universe. Previous areas that were exclusive to Phantasy Star Portable 2 will now become a permanent fixture into the game. This update is coined “Update 3″ which coincides with the closing of PSU JP: Playstation 2 service.
The newest PSU update is a free update that adds a large amount of new items and new areas. The Playstation 2 service had to end since they wouldn’t be able to access the new content. So this gives them a chance to switch to the PC version of the game
PSU Update 3rd can add new missions…
And even some familiar new fields…
The update even allows for such oddball situations like this…
Phantasy star Universe and Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity will have an interlocking event just like last time! Expect some details in the future. In addition Valkyria Chronicles outfits were added to the game.
Valkyria Chronicles Outfits are coming soon to PSU!
Expect to see Squad 7, Squad 442: The Nameless, and Lanseal Royal Military Academy Uniforms. The collaboration starts 2.3.11 through the GC mission, “フォトン水晶交換所” Photon Crystal Exchange. In addition Valkyria Chronicles 3 illustrations will be scattered throughout Cylez City.

In Episode 2 Act 1 of Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, Nagisa is joined by Emilia to collect fragments. However the location of the fragment is being obscured by a certain mineral that is giving off an evil vibe. They begin to search out and destroy the mineral and defeat a monster blocking their path. As they approach the deepest part of the forest…
Oh no! Nagisa-chan!

Once again, the main female character of the story ends up unconcious, on the ground, wearing a miniskirt, in episode 2.
Dejavou, anyone?

As true as that is Scau-demon, I'm more worried about the Grass Assassins and De Ragan stomping on unprepared parties.

I hope this means we'll also be seeing Squad 7 outfits in PSPo2i. That's the one thing I really wanted from a Valkyria collab. Alicia Repca FTW!

It's nice to know that PSPo2 Infinity and Phantasy Star Online 2 are getting alot of hype from people. But I do feel that PS Zero is sorta being left out. Oh well, that's just me.

@Ricardo: Hm. That's a bit low of Sega. I can accept making pay-to-use items for external collabs, but definitely not for internal Sega projects. Never liked their practice of splitting costumes into clothes/parts either.
I shall be extremely judicious in purchasing certain items only.

@Crystal Shard: It makes more sense when you remember that online PSP2 play is free, whereas the other online Phantasy Star games were for-pay. They're supporting the server with that stuff. Though that does make me wonder about SoA, their server is free also but they don't offer any DLC. *shrug*

@SnowFox102: Nah, I fully agree that for the JP servers at least, they do need some revenue stream.
However, I hate people to nickel and dime me for what seems to be on purpose. What's the point of selling cast parts and clothes separate for example? Bundle the cloths and parts for specific genders for goodness sakes, because it feels like they were split simply to maximize profits. It'll be a little bit of goodwill towards customers who have been pretty loyal, and make the buying decision a little easier.
In this case at least, unless they reduce the price for Sega collabs, I don't see why something that is internal to Sega, and doesn't cost license fees should cost the same as external collabs.
Anyway, I'll wait until the prices are announced before REALLY ranting about it. ^_^

So will the 360 version of PSU be getting that anytime soon? >.>

@Mattwo:
Of course not, the 360 servers are currently around 17 months behind the JP servers, and the delay is still increasing.
