3 More Music Sites to hotlink your Mp3s to Facebook

Minorcrisis may be down, but there are more sites out there that will handle your storage for hotlinking MP3s. There are some facebook applications that lets you place a music player in your profile. So if you want to add cool music to your profile, you gotta start uploading.

FileNanny

File Nanny joins the block with the most easy to use storage section. After you upload your file, every single song is stored within the My files area. Click on Share and you’ll get the direct link to the song.

Limitations:

Bandwith: 5GB
Upload Size: 500mb each

Rating: ★★★★★

Hotlink Files

Hotlink Files does just what it intended. Pretty much it hotlinks all your files. It uses the same interface as snapdrive so you should be familiar with it. You have to register in order to upload mp3s. After you upload the files, click Just the Direct URLs at the top.

Limitations:

Bandwith: 4GB
Upload Size: 50mb each

Rating: ★★★★☆

FileXoom

FileXoom is another hotlinking site, however it seems to be suffering problems during testing, so hopefully one day it will be up and running, so keep this in the back of your head until another site goes down. In our tests, sometimes filexoom failed to redirect us to our files. It also got confused when we uploaded Mp3s. In their faq, it says the limit is 100MB, but when we upload mp3s it says the limit is 2mb, far below maximum required. This might great for images but very bad for music. Fortunately it has the highest bandwith per month making it a great deal for small files.

Limitations:

Bandwith: 20GB
Upload Size: 2mb each

Hikkup: Send Anonymous Questions and Comments Through Myspace and AIM

Facebook, IM Widgets          Trackback

hikkupjpg.jpgHikkup is a new service that started around earlier this year in private beta. It lets you ask questions that anyone can answer without being on your friends list. So if you ask, "Do I look Hot?", anyone who visits your profile on Myspace, Facebook, Hi5, and Tagged, can instantly answer your questions.

Hikkup can be accessed without logging in, but I highly suggest you register to keep track of conversations. The service is pretty quick and you’ll get your responses instantly through your My Hikkup page. From there you can respond to the comments your receive. On Myspace you can add a Hikkup widget which allows you to post the flash code on your page. You can even let them post the code for you, but I always recommend to never give out your login information to anybody. When you send a comment anonymously, you can keep track of the conversation by entering your email address or you can click "Click Here" to receive a link to the conversations page. One of the neat things about this widget is that it shows how many responses were given.

Aside from Myspace, and other social networking sites, Hikkup also supports AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. You will have to input your screen name and password information in order to ask a question to someone on your buddy list. However, Hikkup keeps your screen name anonymous by sending an IM from one of the HikkupBots it has. It took some time for the IM to show up, but it sent a link to the question instead of asking it directly in the IM window.

Well Hikkup might be just a novelty application without much long term use. I find it better suited for Myspace, Facebook, and Hi5, for people might be too afraid to add random friends.

Audio Application Vanishes From Facebook

Facebook, News          Trackback

The Audio application from Facebook is gone! I have not found any new as to why its gone or where it went. Maybe its down due to repairs or maybe they have abandoned the project all together with the amount of infringed Mp3s on the service. We’ll have more news about it when it’s found!
