Pazoen: Make Cute Glitter Graphics for your Photos

Pazoen is yet another site glitter site, trying to take over the throne of Blingee. It’s main focus is to add glitter stamps and text to your photos. Pazoen doesn’t really add anything new and interesting to the multitude of glitter sites out there. The generic interface has the usual tools of adding graphics, resizing stamps, and adding text. Typing glitter text was its most robust feature and was pretty easy to do.

Similar to Blingee, it has a badge feature that allows you to add graphics from other sites into your bag. With your bag you can paste these stamps into the photos you are editing. However, uploading a custom stamp was not working at the time of this review and only leads to a blank page. At the embed screen you will get a very clean embed code, which we recommend that all image hosting sites abide to. There is also a flash version of your picture which doesn’t really add to the quality of the image compared to the gif version.glitter graphic

There are many bugs lurking around the site, some might be frustrating towards new visitors. If you finish your picture and click "Start over with the same graphic", your subsequent end result isn’t saved. For some reason only the previously saved work appears, it seems that you’ll have to re-upload the same picture again to make this bug go away. Another pet peeve is the missing delete button. If you want to remove a stamp, you’ll have to keep pressing "undo" it until its gone. If you added a lot of glitter and want to remove something you did at the beginning, you’d have to move the stamp off the screen. We also noticed that the animation of the stamps were much slower when you completed the image. So far Pazoen feels a bit unfinished and has a long way to go before it can be at the top of its game. If other glitter sites are too hard for you or you just want an alternative, try Pazoen out for a change.

vConvert Converts Youtube Videos to WMV, MP3, and 3GP for Mobile Videos

File Conversion          Trackback

Its nice to see vConvert. a new file conversion site similar to media-convert, letting users convert "youtube videos" to wmv, mov, mp4, mp3, and 3gp for your mobile wallpapers. Unfortunately, just as the quote says, it  can only convert youtube videos. In our tests it successfully converted all the youtube links we placed in. However, once you input another site, for example, Guba.com, the site yells, "Connection Failed!" We also tested vConvert using a direct link to a .flv movie file, and it also could not convert it either. It would be great if vConvert was compatable with all video hosting sites, even the obscure ones. If it can do this before the end of the year, they will take a major share of media-convert users, becoming the next internet hit! We recommend that vConvert staff work on supporting other video sites.

We did have some problems playing the videos in Windows Media Player, but found that they could work in VLC Media Player. When converting a video into a .MOV file, the sound was more focused on the right speaker for some reason. Converting a video into MP3 was a close match, so get ready to leech away all your favorite music videos on Youtube!

Quicksharing Uploads Stop Working

File Storage, News          Trackback

logoss.jpg

I’m not sure whats going on in Quicksharing.com, but for the past week, the upload button has been unclickable. Both legal and illegal files uploaded to the server have been mysteriously deleted.  By google searching, I have not yet found a single file that is still hosted there. The site has just sat there cold and alone with no activity going on and no updates as to what will happen to it. I don’t want nominate quicksharing to the deadpool, but can we atleast have a press release?

Hikkup: Send Anonymous Questions and Comments Through Myspace and AIM

Facebook, IM Widgets          Trackback

hikkupjpg.jpgHikkup is a new service that started around earlier this year in private beta. It lets you ask questions that anyone can answer without being on your friends list. So if you ask, "Do I look Hot?", anyone who visits your profile on Myspace, Facebook, Hi5, and Tagged, can instantly answer your questions.

Hikkup can be accessed without logging in, but I highly suggest you register to keep track of conversations. The service is pretty quick and you’ll get your responses instantly through your My Hikkup page. From there you can respond to the comments your receive. On Myspace you can add a Hikkup widget which allows you to post the flash code on your page. You can even let them post the code for you, but I always recommend to never give out your login information to anybody. When you send a comment anonymously, you can keep track of the conversation by entering your email address or you can click "Click Here" to receive a link to the conversations page. One of the neat things about this widget is that it shows how many responses were given.

Aside from Myspace, and other social networking sites, Hikkup also supports AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. You will have to input your screen name and password information in order to ask a question to someone on your buddy list. However, Hikkup keeps your screen name anonymous by sending an IM from one of the HikkupBots it has. It took some time for the IM to show up, but it sent a link to the question instead of asking it directly in the IM window.

Well Hikkup might be just a novelty application without much long term use. I find it better suited for Myspace, Facebook, and Hi5, for people might be too afraid to add random friends.

Audio Application Vanishes From Facebook

Facebook, News          Trackback

The Audio application from Facebook is gone! I have not found any new as to why its gone or where it went. Maybe its down due to repairs or maybe they have abandoned the project all together with the amount of infringed Mp3s on the service. We’ll have more news about it when it’s found!
